Stale, stale limbo....

Treading water we are.

7 home defeats on the spin, and a concerning, creaking, neither here-nor-there playing squad.

Worryingly, that performance is off the back of 2 weeks solid work from Nige, and the unveiling of our enviable training facility.

We, for a while, have smacked of “too busy building a club that we forgot to put a team on the pitch”.

Luckily we have the solution and it appears pretty straight-forward in strategy, although naive to think it will be plain-sailing but surely has to be this:

1. Offer Pearson a long-term contract (on the basis he wants it)

2. If (1) is agreed, who do you want as your backroom staff Mr.Pearson and are they attainable in time for a proper pre-season/recruitment campaign

3. Off the back of 1&2, which players that are out of contract do you want to keep? And lets get them tied down or ruled out

4. Of the rest, who do you want here next year?

5. Who do you want to sign? And are they realistic targets?

Seems obvious and simplistic but I would be astounded if these conversations are not happening, and if they are lets get some positive news out there, right now - we need people thinking about season tickets and attending next year.

What a horrible waste of a season this really has been, somehow however, the club could (and I mean could) have found themselves in a position to regroup and push on but time to take that leap of faith in Nigel Pearson and his vision. But lets commit to it, as half-measures with this guy will end in de ja vu all over again.
