Sadly I reckon there will be truth in this....

Unfortunately there will be a lot going to rescue centres as people won't be able to cope with dog/work life balance.

When we got our dog (she's 3 and we got her as a pup) the breeder wanted to know a lot about us, and to make sure we were the right people for her pup, as she had mum and dad, as well as her mums mum and dad. We're still in contact now!!

Unfortunately there are so many dodgy breeders about that are in it just for the money. It's something they've tried coming down on,m but don't think it's made a lot of difference personally.

We adopted a dog from Romania and were very thoroughly questioned by the rescue charity on our post lockdown intentions. Sadly a lot of breeders won't care and yes the rescues are geared up to loads of abandoned dogs...

We did the same. Fortunately, due to lockdown I will now be permanently working from home. Lost half a stone through three walks a day so its a win, win?

The problem will also be dogs missing the companionship during the day as people return to work outside the house.

Definitely. Our dog has developed worse seperation anxiety than our eight-month-old during lockdown! That said, more people will be mostly working from home long-term IMO.
