Launched flares at the sky sports presenting area and damaged camera equipment, yeah good on them…

So lets just sweep what happened with the ESL under the carpet, like it never happened... Until we forget about it and it comes around again in 2 years. Nah, enough is enough, fans gotta sort this out themselves

Has somebody explained to the bellends on the internet that posting pictures of their mates lobbing cameras on Twitter will result in a 6 O’Clock knock?

Or, make it real simple so the Americans can understand it, and rename it Soccer in the process probably.

No coincidence that there were at least 3 American parties involved in all of this - Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal.

Plus the American backer - jp morgan.

So you're OK with criminal damage are you? There's protesting legitimately, as the fans did last week with great success (and BTW the ESL isn't going to be forgotten because there are repercussions to follow for the teams)  and those hell bent on trashing everything in sight. They could have protested peacefully outside the ground and the hotel. Now the game is unlikely to go on and the club will surely get further punishment. Is that really what the genuine fans want?

Totally agree with their cause & all for peaceful protest but as soon as they start being violent & causing damage they lose a lot of sympathy & support.

True.

And once it turns violent it attracts more of those sorts - as most demonstrations illustrate.

A load of those who turned up for an innocent protest will now get lumped in with the nutters and be getting an early morning call from the old bill.

So if the flare had hit someone, ‘nah it’s fine fans are just sorting it out themselves’

protest sure, even breaking into the stadium fine, but just occupy the pitch, no need for causing damage and the launching flares at people

As the Sky pundits have just said 'peaceful' and fans have had enough. Something needs to happen, not just swept under the carpet like it didn't happen.

I’d beg to differ based on videos online, damage to equipment and throwing flares isn’t peaceful. Occupying the pitch and not leaving if several hundred fans did it makes headlines

Maybe those that have so much negativity towards our owners will be a little more grateful now.

They care about our club, have spent millions on infrastructure, run it well and they do listen. Things aren’t great on the pitch but we are still a championship club and they’ve landed the experienced manager we all wanted

Unless they are prepared to wait until tonight this game will not take place. You are looking at a minimum 90 minutes from leaving the hotel to kicking off and the teams are still at their hotels.

Surely the stadium has to be swept first? Can’t guarantee a small group of fans hasn’t found their way into an obscure part of the stadium and could reappear mid game.

the other thing to bare in mind is games take place because the stadiums are Covid bubbles, has that not been ‘burst’?

Which makes it even harder to stage the game today. However I bet there aren't any free dates for a rearrangement. This is a complete headache for everyone involved but then so was scurrying behind peoples backs in support of a ESL. Hard lines lads......chickens coming home to roost.

Another point being made for needing a security sweep, how can you guarantee no package has been left it part of the stadium? Surely a sweep has to be conducted.

Me and my slight conspiracy theorist (in a football sense) still wonders if FIFA at any stage even if only for a time, were still more involved in this Super League debacle than they let on!

Financiers are now assembling a $6bn funding package to assist the launch of the venture, which, if successful, could be one of the sport’s most lucrative competitions.

Wall Street titan JP Morgan is said to be in talks to provide the debt financing, which would be repaid from future broadcast revenue generated by the competition. Other banks are also expected to join financing of the project.

As many as five English clubs could sign up to the league, while teams from France, Germany, Italy and Spain are said to be involved. The would-be competition has floated a provisional start date as early as 2022.

Sources said Fifa, the international governing board for football, had been involved in developing the new league, which would consist of up to 18 teams and hold fixtures during the normal European season.

The tournament would then conclude with a knockout round between the highest-placed clubs in the league, with the winners set to pocket hundreds of millions of pounds in prize money.

Sounds awfully familiar, doesn't it- not as if FIFA and UEFA aren't strategic rivals either.

Bit further back.

Not much of a punishment it seems, with the possible exception of Juventus and the big 2 in Spain.

Breaching the settlement could hurt though- 100m fine if they try this again, 50m euros fine if they breach any other part of the settlement.

With respect to the 3 holdouts...

But Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus have refused to approve what UEFA on Friday called “reintegration measures” and they will be referred to UEFA disciplinary bodies for sanctions after backing the new largely closed competition, meaning they could be banned from the Champions League.

Need to hit all 3 and hit them hard- though I'd have liked to have seen all 12 get a bit of hammer.
