If Pearson goes then who?

I don't know why, but seem to have a hunch that NP may be/has been offered the DOF role to restructure the playing side of the club throughout, including recruitment and medical, etc, and that a search is going on behind the scenes to bring in a manager under him - Craig Shakespeare perhaps? And no, I've not been on the cider!!! This to me, is a plausible reason for the continued silence from the Club.

I've been thinking along those lines.

Interesting thought. I suspect if they did do something like that they'd go for a younger Lee Johnson type. Someone like Russell Martin.

Gregor said no usual press conference from NP and media will be done tomorrow instead ?

Also, the City social media pages have been posting a fair amount today

They often do this when they have a big announcement later in the day to help boost their overall engagement.. hmm.

We had this theory when Holden was appointed, for a week or so certain posters (not you) repeatedly banged on about someone else also being appointed as the DoF, it never happened then & I think there is absolutely no chance at all of this.

If Pearson stays it will be as our manager & if anyone gets the sort of role you suggest here in those circumstances it will be Steve Walsh.

Yep, NP wants to manage.

I always says this when this comes up but I absolutely hate the obsession in England with the idea that proven managers should be appointed as Directors of Football. When it is done right, the Director of Football is a specialist role - the likes of Steve Walsh, Txiki Begiristain at Man City (and formerly Barcelona), Dan Ashworth at West Brom, England and then Brighton and Mateu Almenay (the new DoF at Barcelona) have never managed in their lives because that isn't part of being a Director of Football.

Managers should be appointed as managers as nothing else and appointing a manager as a Director of Football is amateurish, unprofessional and completely misunderstanding the role. We don't need Pearson as a Director of Football and we don't need Joe Jordan as a Director of Football. If we appoint a Director of football - and I think we should - it should be someone who wants to be a Director of Football and who has the skillset and probably experience of doing so. It absolutely should NOT be someone who wants to be managing.

I personally think Wilder would be a contender for the Leeds job. Bielsa has never stayed at a club for more than 2 years....He's already done 3 at Leeds. Bielsa to Tottenham ?

I thought that too. When asked if the sneaky six should be punished, he said no. I though, yeah because you'll be managing one of them next season...
