wayne allisons tongues
How is that a red card he’s cleared the ball and follow through kicks opponent. Can’t work out why ref and VAR think it’s a red what’s he suppose to do.
Alex_BCFC
Exactly why VAR should be scrapped. They look at it 20 times yet still get wrong decision - not even a yellow that.
Lrrr
It has nothing to do with VAR, it’s to do with the people who operate it, ref watching the screen recommends the ref on the pitch go watch it again and the referee decides it’s a red. The process worked correctly just the idiot refs come to the wrong decision. I do however believe that slow motion video should be banned for VAR
cheese
Awful awful decision. It might be the refs decision but it's instigated by the way VAR is used. Want no part of it.
Alex_BCFC
If VAR doesn’t exist then they don’t even look at it and no one cares. Its a combination of rules, the fact VAR is there and the way it’s used. Just get rid ffs.
Davefevs
Just seen in.....as bad a decision as you’ll ever see. Another ref I’d refer to as “last pick in the playground”, i.e. never played the game.
Nugget
It works much better in rugby in my opinion. The open dialogue & discussion between ref, touch judges & video ref works well, larger screens too. Seems to be a lot wrong with var in football though, but it can work much better

cidered abroad
If the follow through is considered dangerous to an opponent then it isn't treated any differently to a player kicking an opponent before the ball. It doesn't need to be malicious or even intended. The interpretation of dangerous play is there to prevent players from unnecessary injury. Maltshoveller
VAR is not the problem Its the refs to give a red card for that after seeing it on the monitor is a total joke

grifty
Red for me. West Ham player knows exactly what he's doing to stamp on Chilwells achilles/calf.
daored
Really hope Leicester hold until a top four place , shame West Ham now looking unlikely. Be good to see four of the so called ‘top six’ not finishing in those positions

Be good to see four of the so called ‘top six’ not finishing in those positions I want Leicester to do it as well, they've got a real chance to establish themselves with Rodgers in charge, would like them to break in and be a semi permanent champions league fixture. Only fear in that would be Rodgers being tempted away by a 'bigger' team, Spurs or Arsenal come to mind.

If the player has the ball under control (he did) he is neither making a tackle or challenging for the ball = It cannot be serious foul play. There is no punishment for kicking ball a player has under control. The challenge was from Chillwell. The player may have been sent off for violent conduct. Alex_BCFC
West Ham confirm Fabian Balbuena’s controversial red card in Chelsea defeat has been overturned after outrage at VAR review (talksport.com) What a surprise. VAR couldn't get it right after wasting minutes on it. Just holds up the game and doesn't even get the right decision.
