On another note. Sammy szmodics just got his 16th goal of the season. We’ll get to watch him in the championship after all. Anther great bit of work by MA  ?

Not just Ashton but his side kick LJ who considered Szmodics not having the necessary skills for the Championship.

Would of been nice if he was given a chance. Signed Palmer straight after as well . Personally think he’s a decent player & who knows may have flourished playing in the 4231 Nige seems to prefer

1-0 Brentford after 36. I was hoping Rotherham would win to heap more pressure on WRDC but I fear it`s not to be.

Mind you, it would be even funnier if they went down to Wednesday on the last day.

Wednesday on 39 points, are the bigger threat to Wayne's World, as long as they beat Forest in their penultimate game at home. Derby have 43 and face a difficult trip to Swansea before El Crapico on May 8. Both teams have a -21 goal difference. Tasty.

Really disappointed with what happened with Szmodics ,looked a real player in the little we saw of him, can see him having a real impact next season .

If he had never signed for us would have been on Harry's list of players to bring in.

No prizes for guessing what will be Sky`s live game if it does happen like that.

From memory he looked more than useful in pre-season, then LJ made some comment about how he hadn't really wanted to sign him yet and he wasn't ready, then Palmer arrived and he barely got a look-in.

Forest fans must be really hoping they lose to Wednesday so that Derby stand a chance of being relegated !!

He was shunted to one side it seemed like and when he did play occasionally the game just seemed to pass him by. It`s a strange one for sure.

Unfortunately LJ failed to give him a run of games and we never saw what he could really do. I don’t think he ever started a game for City - it was just cameo performances from the bench.

I’ve watched a few of Rotherham’s recent games and they are very unlucky to have not picked up any points. They’re giving it full effort every match but the schedule is just absolutely brutal for them.
Damn shame, just needed a little bit more and they’d have put Derby down. Let’s still hope.

He’s very quick, many of his goals come from running onto through passes like Vardy, was the same when he was at Colchester. I think he and Palmer could have been a great combination. Be he scores against us next season.

5 straight defeats but all by the odd goal, you’re right if they hadn’t ended up with such a ridiculous schedule they probably would have scraped enough points together.

Still, we tried our best to help by donating 6 points to them.

We all like to beat MA/LJ but Szmodics looked useless whenever he was on the pitch, a second behind every other player

SS came from L2 - much slower from the pace and hurly burly of the Championship. He never had enough opportunities to get upto speed and was deemed not good enough by LJ.

He was one that got away imo.

I don’t feel he was given enough of a chance in the first team but when he did play he didn’t impact the game.

This is a prime example of our scattergun approach to transfers.

Who would have chosen Szmodics, from Colchester , over a young Chelsea prospect that was Palmer ?

He still hasn’t had a season in the Championship so maybe the club got it right?
Time will tell.

The trouble is, we donated three to Derby as well.
