Season ticket switch

I wish to move from the Dolman to the Lansdown. Do I just let my Dolman seat go and then try to book a Lansdown seat, or do I renew my Dolman and then swop it(with the necessary cash adjustment) for the Lansdown? If I can't get a Lansdown seat in roughly the same area as my friends, I'd probably stay in my current seat in the Dolman.
