Did Toney seem like he'd be one to take us forward rapidly at that time...personally I was keen on Joao 2 years ago and he's gone on to flourish (though not like Toney this year especially) at Reading. He only really exploded into Iife in 2019/20- quick Wiki search says up to 2018/19, 44 in 131 League One games. 16 in 44 at Peterborough in 2018/19 could have been a sign of things to come. Then again, who can say we would have got the best out of him.
