SecretSam
Announced his retirement. Absolutely turned himself inside out at City. Top man.
Sleepy1968
If anyone thinks any of our senior strikers have put a shift in for the last 6 months, just show them some jon stead highlights to shut them up.

RoystonFoote'snephew
Wonderful player for us and so many clubs. Remember being so impressed with him when he was scoring against us for Huddersfield so was delighted when he donned a City shirt. Wishing him every success in his retirement. While we're on the subject of retirement, I understand James Coppinger has finally hung up his boots at Doncaster. Another wonderful servant of the game who deserves a long successful retirement. Offside
Really good player for us and had a superb attitude. One of the few bright sparks from that era when we were in decline. He was a model pro. Best wishes on your retirement from playing, Jon.
Simon79
Very underrated player at the time I seem to remember. Great work ethic, good movement & good touch. Then Mcinnes started playing him left midfield I seem to recall. All the best to him. COYR
mozo
I've got it in my head that he scored a couple of belters in the Prem too. I'm not going to bother fact checking that though...

He notched 14 goals in 86 premier league appearances for Blackburn, Sunderland and Sheff United - I loved Jon Stead - he was a proper professional footballer, on and off the pitch he was utter class - a great guy
BanburyRed
I think he might have scored for Bradford City in their FA Cup win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge a few years back..?

He certainly did! When Bradford were 2-0 down our hero Stead notched just before half time to set the Bantams on their way to a memorable 2-4 victory ... Redsi2
I was only thinking the other day if only we had some players like him busting a gut in a similar sh*t team to this season. I decided we don't.

He could give a few motivational speeches down at AG during the close season.

Phileas Fogg
He's also a really nice guy. Been totally humble and slightly self-deprecating (think Peter Crouch) for his entire career.
Robbored
Yep, a top bloke on and off the pitch. A very likeable guy. Hopefully he’ll be a success in whatever role in football he takes.
Dastardly and Muttley
Strange how things work out. He turned us down a few weeks before we eventually signed him as he wanted more money. Look on here at that time and he was being called all sorts. Just goes to show how effort and hard work earns you the respect of the fans. Happy retirement Steady. Bris Red
Could never fault his attitude for us and as others have said this current crop could learn a thing or two from him in that respect. He never was a prolific goalscorer though it has to be said..
Chairman Mao
great goal against Reading (?) under Millen for our first home win back in 2010-11. God we were crap that season.

Riaz
I was totally underwhelmed by his signing. But boy, he won me over more than any other signing. Was very good in a poor bristol city side and always worked his bollocks off.
