Admin phantom Posted May 19, 2021 Admin Report Share Posted May 19, 2021 Always wondered if a referee would actually ever go through with sending off a GK in a shoot out But I guess rules are rules and they were followed to the letter of the law here ! The only shame with this footage it doesn't show what happened next, does an outfield player go in goal or is the shoot out over? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/57165301
grifty
Rules are rules. The referee gave him a warning for the 1st and then he did it twice more.

Denbury Red
Delighted with this ….. and they didn’t need VAR to prove it either! We should see much more of this type of thing in the English leagues.

AppyDAZE
Sent off for coming off his line? Hmm, I smell a rat here.
chucky
There's a shoot out between 2 US teams (I think). The ref sends off a keeper for coming off the line. The team makes a substitute and then the ref realises that isn't allowed. Then an outfield player goes in goal. On the last kick, the outfield player saves the pen and his team wins.
