First trip to Wembley , and the real old twin tower Wembley too. Our coach was first there, which seemed clever at the time, not so much when it come to getting out. First in the pub, which also turned out not so clever as we were the wrong side so it kicked off a little before the game, a little after if I remember correctly . 3-0 win, good day out which, when we got back turned into a late lock-in at our old 'local'.

Fantastic memories and a huge moment for the club considering what went on 4 years previous. Love that team and kit

My favourite ever interview from my favourite manager.

Remember leaving work the day before and as the factory cleared out there were many shouts of Wembley Wembley.  It seemed like the whole of Bristol was going apart from the Blue few..18 years old ...What a day..brings back memories..Nice one

Up there with my favourite ever memories of watching City. I was about 12 and caught the train to London with my dad, mum and sister (the latter two spent the day shopping). I remember the feeling of disbelief at being at Wembley and vividly recall the first goal going in.

And then in the evening walking along home after getting off the bus from Temple Meads, an old guy was at his living room window waving and sticking his thumbs up.

That Terry Cooper interview gets me every single time.

Remember that day better than I can recall yesterday! So proud of who we were and what we achieved, the sea of red and white (and those dodgy yellow and black ski hats) brought tears to my 18 year old eyes. Went by coach, stuck for hours in the car park after the game, but no one cared! I've still got my FRT 1986 mug too. Fantastic memories, thanks for posting! ?

What a day that was! I was doing my A Levels at what was then Brunel Technical College, up at Ashley Down. How the time goes by....

That post-match interview with TC still brings a gator tear to the eye. Everything that man had achieved in the game and you knew just how much winning that trophy (and the minibus too!) meant to him. Very moving.

Fabulous day out, my first trip to Wembley, what a great sight walking up the ramp into the ground.

Proud to say I was there. Rebirth of the club in reality.
We were a close knit family of City fans in those days. Great days to be a City fan.

Fab picture of Tommy Hutchinson.

Rock on Tommy…..errr Bobby.

First ever live game I went to, not a bad way to start! Was hooked from that moment. 35 years ago, just wow. COYR

Glory hunter ?

what a day , what a team & also my favourite manager . Many of us have asked the club to honour TC but always seems to fall on deaf ears. I really hope they do something before he passes away .

This game and the Chester away promotion game are 2 of my favourites.

Both games signalled the fact that not only were we not going bust or suffering continuous relegations to non league but we were actually going places.

Well we haven’t really gone places since but at least we’re still here

I`m not ashamed to say I cried like a baby when we picked up the trophy. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would see my club, my City win a cup at Wembley (back then playing there was something really special).

I wasn`t alone either - there were a lot of big tough City fans that had something in their eye that day.

Chester away, what a ******* amazing day.
I have to say, although I loved the Wembley day all my nerves and tension was used up at the Hereford home game. We were in the enclosure and Neville seemed to take an age to knock the winner in.
So glad we got to go to the Old Wembley a few times before the rebuild. Dark days in the 4th Division, but I loved them, and Terry Cooper will always be a special part of where we are now.

Chester away up there with the best. Last time we came out the bottom division and thankfully not returned. Trevor Morgan scored if I remember right. Riotous scenes. I am sure they had a player sent off and someone landed a punch on him as he exited to the tunnel. People dancing around with John Shaw in the penalty area and massive pitch invasion at full time. Another one up there with the best....

Before the end, the mesh fencing around where we were was cut, and it was only the City lads holding it kept it up ?

Always remember when some guy tried to pick TC up on his shoulders, looked like he was going to drop him out of the stand , bloody scary for a second .

I look at that and it brings me back to being a 12 year old. I will remember that day until I die. Bristol City were back from the doldrums. 35 years ago wow. I loved that team and have never connected to any other and that's including the sides that have got us promoted since. We we're one back then. Happy memories.
