Still an odd signing for me.

Bought him either injured or got injured very soon after joining is never a good start.

Hope he gets into Nige's starting XI and does well though.

Got injured in his 2nd training session I thought

Got my doubts about him staying here tbh.

Him, Walsh, and Paterson had mystery injuries which kept them out for a long time..

Anyone know what their injuries were that kept them out so long ?

All very well documented injuries….combos of quad, hamstring and hips.

Really ?

We have no idea what the problems with Williams were, but it is apparent that he was brought back too early. We'll learn the background to that one day. It was anything but very well documented imo.

In fact, I saw nothing that was very well documented with Williams, Walsh, and Paterson.

I suppose it was very well documented that Diedhiou had a knee injury for the last few games....of course he did.

Wasn't brought back too early, was asked to do too much too soon after coming back, by all accounts he breezed through his U23's appearances no problem as they were a week apart.

Huge difference between U23 and Championship as you will be aware.

I think he was brought back too early and paid the price.

But that's the point, if he was brought in to the first team and asked to play 30 mins/45 or even and hour and then not asked to play weekend/midweek he'd probably have been fine, give him a week between games etc until he's up to speed. If he wasn't ready to come back he wouldn't have played 23's at all

We were told that he did his thigh on day one of training, later he said he’d been in a bit of limbo at Wigan and probably wasn’t quite as fit on signing as he should’ve been.  Suffered setbacks, came back and did his hamstring.  Kept him out for rest of the season.  So, pretty well documented both by club and local press too.

You seem to be hinting that there is another reason, non-injury related?  Care to share?

Walsh, tore his quad following his return from Coventry, whilst training with City when they returned from Covid. Was meant to be 8 weeks, had setbacks, came back and and got injured again, this time hamstring.  Again, detailed by club and local press.

What else are you after?  Or like Williams, do you have an alternative theory?

Pato, did his hip, got poor advice from one specialist, eventually saw another, tried to play through it, couldn’t get through games, went in for an op.

How come I know all this?  Because I’ve read and listened to all the various reports and interviews.

Whether you believe what’s been reported it is your prerogative and very different to saying it’s not well documented, there’s been lots of info documented or provided in interviews.

I’m quite happy for NP to be liberal with the truth on occasion, that’s his prerogative.  As it is when he wants to be brutally honest too.

With the exception of Williams I'm confident the other 3 players had no intention of playing a game during the final month of last season. Frank Fielding confessed to having an operation that could waited / he'd been putting off because his contract was up.

Maybe.

Let’s see where each ends up too.  Walsh was offered a contract, assume to at least entitle us to compensation.

We saw him playing golf at the end of September with Taylor Moore and Nakhi. Surely if his quad was screwed he shouldn’t have been doing that (admittedly they had buggies). Not doubting anything from you btw Fevs, but it’s always bugged me seeing as he didn’t kick a ball.

Joe  Williams? Robin Williams more like.

He’s 24 and only played 100 games. Massengo has almost played as many games ffs. And he’s not even 20.

No point in holding out for something that is unlikely to happen.

You couldn't think of any other Williams' that would make it relevant could you? ?
