RoystonFoote'snephew
Another day of utter carnage. I think van de Poel will keep yellow and Alaphillipe and Carapaz look to have been in the front group but until official results have been posted its anyone's guess what the actual GC standings will look like. Guest
I mean without sounding naïve but are they riding on thinner wheels this year or something.. seems crazy the amount of crashes compared to previous years. Maybe its just the gap since 2019 that makes it feel worse than actually is.

The commentators were saying the narrow Breton roads were a significant factor and Sir Brad and the other pundit have said the same. Tomorrows stage is on the same type of roads so we can all expect more crashes.

Nuts Sir Brad was saying it’s not just popping his shoulder back in, it’s the post injury trauma of bruising, muscles stiffening up etc and wondered if Thomas would be able to take part in the time trial given the cycling posture required,

RoystonFoote'snephew
Don't you just love an emotional sportsman who has total love and respect for his sport. Mark Cavendish was unreal yesterday not just winning the stage but taking the Green Jersey too. Today is very different of course as Mark is not a time triallist. Nevertheless I've noticed he actually posted a better time than Tony Martin who used to be one of the worlds great TT riders.

RoystonFoote'snephew
Wow! Pogacar will take some stopping on this tour. He has undoubtedly proven that not only is he a great climber but also an ITT specialist. Given the state of play of the other expected GC contenders they will have to start attacking him early in the mountain stages if they have any hope of stopping him winning. In fact barring injuries we may be seeing a Grand Tour podium cyclist for the next decade and Ineos Grenadiers best chance may be fir Brailsford to offer him the biggest contract in cycling history. I must admit, I didn’t think he would come back and win one. So when the last few k’s were ticking down, and De Moer was still out in front, I thought it was gonna be one of those brilliant moments when someone manages to hold off the peloton. I was actually super-excited that he was gonna do it, then was gutted for him when he got caught at 250 metres to go. For it then to be Cav who came roaring through to win, I went back to super super excited again. It was a superb finish to the stage and an amazing moment. I just watched the last 10k back again this afternoon to soak it in again. Brilliant stage and such an emotional moment.

You have to think that without illness and injury he'd have absolutely pissed it. I don't think it matters that much. He's seen off so many challenges and done so much that won't be taken away, record or not.
