Exactly. Ask any bookie what cost them more: a handful of punters having Leicester to win the PL at 2000/1, or every man and his dog piling into odds-on prices when Frankie Dettori rode a seven-timer at Royal Ascot?

The bookies are always the ones laughing and this price doesn't reflect their personal opinion of us, just that plenty of punters have piled into us to go down at bigger prices than 9/2.

Where has anyone "piled into us", if they opened up at 4/1 and we have drifted to 9/2 nobody has piled into us at all. Expect a few sags have had some money on us out of hope though.

As for bookies getting it wrong with Leicester, France etc, it rarely means anything as they would have made a book and would have been winners regardless of whoever won it. The bookies would have won a lot more money with Leicester winning it than if Man City won it. It is all about the overround and percentages. Just because a few slips with £2 wins and £5 wins at 2000/1 get on social media it doesn't really mean a lot. You aren't seeing the losing bets where they would have taken a fair few 5 figure bets on the Prem and possibly more from Asia.

The bookies do get a wrong on a daily basis on Horse racing, but it is just impossible to take advantage of it as they just restrict punters betting to pennies or ban them completely.

I don't know whether the price has shortened up or drifted. Usually when a price shortens, it's because punters are lumping on. Looking at your knowledge of the betting industry, you know that as well.

Last 3 months? Not much better than the worst side in the division for 93% of the season

The strange thing was though, we had 48 pts from 36 games- that's bang in midtable form, not too brilliant but steady. We were 12th in mid March.

We must have dropped like an absolute stone and been the worst by a country mile in that last 10.

That's because you picked up 12 points from your first 4 games.

39 from the other 42 will be why the bookies think you'll struggle.

36 from 32 to that point then...extrapolated it's still on the way to safety, 45-50 pts is often enough. 51-52 over a season.

We fell off a cliff at varied points, we also started fielding increasing numbers of youth players in the last 10 and the injury crisis, though it abated somewhat, remained quite high throughout.

Our results went through good spells and bad spells, but our performances were often very sketchy indeed, not good mostly.
