Think Spain would have been a harder opponent for whoever wins the England/Denmark game. England could go toe to toe with this Italian side.

England would be chasing the ball all night like Italy did.

The better team lost, Italy were quite happy to let it go to penalties.

Italy will definitely be an easier (not that it will be easy) team to beat in the final. Whoever wins tomorrow, will probably quite fancy their chances providing they don't sit back and let the Italians control the game.

It's surprising that for all their passing and possession, the one time the Spanish cut through the Italian defence, they scored. And didn't do it again. Bonucci and Chiellini have the combined age of an extinct dinosaur, yet apart from that moment, weren't troubled.

Spain lack a top striker they created enough tonight to have won by a few goals.

And if we win. We have the pace and directness to cause them a lot of problems.
But we have a real tough game tomorrow

Come on England :englandflag:

Probably because there were 8 in front of them defending as well most of the time.

No fan of Italy at all, cynical, dirty side who contest every decision with the ref.

If England win tomorrow they need to try & make sure every cynical challenge is seen by the ref & get the right back Di Lorenzo (who was fouling all first half) sent off.

I know some admire the Spanish style, 70% possession, move the ball around - Danny Murphy certainly did! But for me that's not the point of football...and is like watching paint dry. Spain try and throw a blanket over every side they play, they suck the life out of the game. That they are so awful in front of goal makes it even more frustrating.

Italy have more obvious frailties and battle to overcome them. England v Italy would be a cracking match.

Yes for sure, crossing it in was just the same result. Thought Olmo was outstanding but the final ball once they were on the edge of the box or just inside wasn't there.

Its ok, every time Sterling goes down he makes sure to grab the ball.

So by the end of the first half either Di Lorenzo will be off for fouls, or Sterling will be off for handballs.

For England is a good result. I think England have a stronger defense cause Spanish one was horrible most of the time.

I wanted Spain to win for the beauty of the football. They deserved this win but once you get to penalties, everything can change.

The stats doesn't lie, Spain totally dominated the ball and if Italy wouldn,' just try to counter and def with all players, Spain would have scored more goals.

I m looking forward to England's game and I hope the Trophy that will be on Wembley for the Final, will stay there for 3 years, at least.
