No idea how they get away with temporary stands for so long. I can understand events that last months or a year useing them, but just odd they are allowed for long term seating. Maybe that's the cheap way forward for the Ayteo when it updated, a big top with benches

Gillingham have had temporary seating in the away end which feels like forever. As even now when see any highlights expect them to have finally ditched the green temporary seats. But no they’re still there.

Finalising it all and work beginning..

3 years if it all runs smoothly.

If we base it on Tottenham Hotspur who, as we all recall the Sags commercial manager saying a few years ago, were the only other club in the country to do as much ground development work as the methane snorters then, from announcement to first match, the Stadium of Shite should be open in around 9 years.

Seem to remember Spurs form dipped alarmingly, as did Arsenal's after they both built their new stadia.

The powers that be at Rovers have obviously done due diligence and have pre-empted this issue.

I fear the worst for Barton

I really don’t think his defence (gert teds in the away end) is going to wash in Sheffield.

If that doesn`t work he`ll revert to one of the tried and tested s*g defences - blame Sainsbury`s, Bristol City Council, the tax-dodger Pantsdown or Wycombe Wanderers.

I can see it now, a dozen rovers fans helping him pick up litter, claiming how loyal they are and have support like no other with Barton lapping it up.

It could be a variation on a football-related curfew. Instead of having to report to a police station at 3pm on a Saturday he has to report to the swamp.

Has he been charged by the EFL for the offence, or will they wait for the courts verdit?

Surely if found guilty by the courts then the EFL will have to punish him as well ,stadium ban etc (then again that won't be a punishment ?)

Wouldn't effect him for home games, they don't count that as a stadium surely? :)

Barton camp (can't) go to football stadiums anymore

Went to Barton Camp, Winscombe in 1958  for a week through the school and at the expense of Broad Plain House Boys Club. The first holiday I ever had. Joined the boys club after and helped out at the camp in later years.

Barton trial now being reported in the post, registered at 17.33 and in the sports section. Can't help thinking that if this were the City manager, it would have been a leading front page story and not listed at 5.30 pm on a Sunday, in the sports section. As it's also by the Rovers reporter, it'll be seen by even less people.

Indeed. If it was us they`d have been trailing it for weeks, having vox-pops and all sorts.
