I bumped into a Gashead this morning from Bristol and he said " they're by far the biggest club in league 2 with their huge fanbase and potential and that Barton is the right man for the job" I was speechless, smiled and changed the topic of conversation.

Didn't he ask you who you preferred, The Gas or the Shit...?

In thirty years they`ll still be waiting?

Well, the last time they had 10k average attendance was in 1976 (10,022) which is 45 years ago.

The last time they had 20k average attendance was in 1958 (20,604) which is 63 years ago.

Today they had just over 6k - which is par for the course over their history.

They have an ageing support base and it'll take more than an imaginary new stadium to get those geriatrics off their sofas.

The support in the city is ours, they've lost it.

So when he talks about bigger clubs, is he now talking about the likes of Forest Green Rovers; and Port Vale?

Christ, quite how far have the Gas dropped that their manager considered those type of clubs "Bigger".

What's the plan for next year Joey when the 5 loans, and 15+ players are either OOC or at the end of their 1 year deals. Go.out and buy another 20 players?

They need to build a team, not just employ a group of scousers who used to play for Fleetwood; and are mates with the Manager.

Why change it, I think it's going rather well, could do better, agreed; stapled to the foot of the league with a 30 point point deduction would be the better option: but hey ho there's always next season.

When is part 2 of Joey v the Crown?

*sorry, part 7

It's on Thursday, Wimbledon Magistrates' Court.

Here is a preview from one of the Rovers forums:

In last week's match, a rare international fixture for Rovers, a very professional defence performance blunted the opponents attacks and saw off the former Barnsley manager in a game that so lacked excitement that some of the very small crowd fell asleep

This week's match, against an opponent who has proved difficult to pin down, promises to be more emotive. The venue in South London is much closer to home, and appears likely to require a much more sophisticated tactical approach from the Rovers manager - something for which he has hitherto not been particularly known

The build-up has so far been subdued, but tensions in the Rovers camp are likely to be growing, and this has the potential to upset the fans.  It's another big week ahead for Rovers..

Just seen the weekend highlights on ITV1, any idea why Rovers were playing in their yellow and green away kit?

I think I read somewhere it was to do with a homeless charity and was to highlight issues around homelessness and being “away from home” or something like that. Outside of that serious subject, there is of course an obvious joke but I can’t quite word it right.
