Us resigning Klose is a similar thing. Delighted he is staying for another year. With the depressed transfer market at the moment though, will the Fewers break the Tilson barrier? Look at the teams that have been above us since the last time the Gas were….Yeovil, Torquay, Rochdale, Fleetwood, Scunthorpe, Crawley, Stevenage to name just a few. The Gas have no excuses for this whatsoever. It's not like we have excelled and they have to just take it in the chin. Their neglect of being competetive is only down to their own woeful failures. When I started watching City (89/90) we both got promoted to the Championship equivalent. Since then, we've seen being at that level as the expected, but for them it's been a distant dream of heights that they are unlikely to aspire too. We've even spent plenty of time down at L1 level to give them a chance and what do they go and do...? Oh yeah, they capitulate into non-league, get themselves back up to L1 and then back down to the basement, again. If their hangovers, form being the 3rd best team in the basement (largely down to other teams' players) has now cleared - I'll be expecting them to challenge our position over the next 12 months. City, being City, will probably get relegated the season they get up and let the pikey rent boys leap frog us...!

Bristol Rob
Seems to have been overlooked by most of the Fewers that following their relegation a couple of seasons back, they are now only back in the division Joey relegated them from I think the unexpected manner of their final day win that led to promotion has caused a degree of brain fog. Over on Gaschat they seem beyond excited at being back in the 3rd tier, with talk of sellout crowds, new stadiums being essential and a fan base not too dissimilar to our own. Yet still they've not started their League One squad rebuild. I know a few years back a number of their supporters were complaining about their aging fanbase and with the number of season tickets they've sold you can't imagine they have improved that much. We were able to announce thousands of season tickets sold in the youth categories which likely means a lot of them will then become fans for life. Not looking good for them if they were hoping to mop up the next generation. Their best bet for next season is that Derby implode further and either start on minus 15 or go under and remove a relegation spot from the division.

I hate to give them any type of credit but do think he probably had to do a full sweep of what he inherited, and although they are still in the same place as when he took over, you could argue the same about Pearson and us (without a relegation). But we can see what had to be done here and hopefully a few more are on board now with the longer term plan here. Their big issues as you have said is they are just deluded when it comes to crowds, new ground, sell outs etc etc. My mate who is a season ticket holder has said the last few years how many older fans they have and lack of youngsters. They are in a very poor position to get new fans through the turnstiles in that effort of a "Stadium". If they get a new Stadium even in 5 years time then where are the youngsters going to come from, they will either be City fans or Rugby fans I expect (bar family ties). Their next issue is Joey either getting a guilty verdict and sacked, and also having to try and rebuild in a League higher (whoever is in charge), and yet again they will rely on more loans. How long can they keep going down this route and not being able to sell players or make any profit from players? Hopefully they will be in for a long season, and they won't be able to make up the points in that League like they did last season if they fall behind.
Popular Post Ska Junkie
To show we post well meaning stuff on this thread sometimes and as it is hasn't been mentioned on their forums (one of which seems to have vanished), I wanted to pay tribute to a gashead that passed away today, Mike 'Tom' Thomas, a mountain of a man but a genuinely nice bloke and a diehard gashead. He passed away last night, at 60, after a short battle with cancer. He was well known around the Kingswood and Longwell green areas. At least he lived to see them promoted I guess. God bless Tom and sleep well my friend. R.I.P. Edited June 19, 2022 by Ska Junkie 32
