I did have a screenshot of this fact from one of those ‘awaydays’ pages on Facebook which, annoyingly, I can’t find.

I did however come across this beauty from a typically deluded Saghead. We all know at least one Gas roaster who thinks like this....

Imagine what they come out with at half time up the Mem when they haven’t got Babestation to strum to?

Hahaha. ******* ridiculous, are they **** bigger than any of the clubs mentioned.. what the deluded few don’t realise is we aren’t living in the early to mid 90s anymore when granted they would have been bigger than some of the clubs mentioned. Literally every single club on that list has overtaken them both on and off the pitch and many have had recent Premier league stints. They are absolutely deluded man.

Jesus H Christ I knew they were delusional but this is on a different level. Charlton, Luton and Wycombe (assuming these are the enemies I mean they did want to sue them for relegating them from League two) are the teams they are closest to but the others shouldn't even be involved in the conversation. I mean Fulham? A team who were last in a league below the championship in 98-99 who have spent a majority of the 2000's in the Premier League.

I have it on good authority that the real reason that the European Super League collapsed was that they forgot to invite the gas.

Fulham ahahahaha

.... and Blackburn!! They’ve won the premier league/top tier three times, they’ve competed in the champions league and they’ve won the FA Cup six times and they’ve won the league cup - what on earth makes a roverzzzz fan think their shabby club is bigger than a club like Blackburn ?! It really is strange...

I am afraid I went and did something rather mean!!

I decided to look into the facts behind this utter delusional gas logic - as we know facts are possibly the only thing they fear more than soap!

A bit of time on excel and https://www.european-football-statistics.co.uk/englandcontent.htm leads to a nice chart of 50 years of attendances up until lockdown in 2020

Green cells are the ones that would support their claim of being "bigger" for that season.

They could possibly entertain having an argument with fans of Brentford, Wigan and Luton....

However, Brentford appear to be on a very upward trajectory and I doubt will fall to the level the saggies now find thesleves at for a long time. Luton have seen hard times in recent decades, but are on their way back and could well establish themselves as a championship outfit for a few seasons. Wigan (recent-ish Premier League team AND FA cup winners) have had problems and they may have attendances smaller than the gas when fans return but they will still be playing in the league above - ?

The rest of the clubs mentioned are so far ahead of their tinpot outfit its bizzare they actually appear to believe this crap.

You aren't allowed facts in gas logic plus you haven't accounted for the 10,000 fans that were locked out of the ground.

I was bore so decided to do the 'fact' thing.

PNE. Capacity 23,404

Charlton Athletic. Many Premier league seasons. Capacity 27,111

Blackburn rovers. Capacity 31,367

Wigan Athletic - Multiple Premier league seasons plus European competition. Capacity 25133

Luton town capacity 10356, soon to be 21000

Barnsley Premier league appearances. capacity 23,287

Methane snorters -erm Capacity 12296

image.png.6bb7067f7806191a954372b0f1345ccf.png

Bear in mind, all, apart from the sags are SEATED capacity, theirs would be around 2,600.

All of the 'smaller' clubs have modern, comfortable stadiums, apart from Luton, who are moving and QPR who, although having a much higher capacity than the 'big' club in BS7, are trying to relocate.

Bigger? Obviously! NOT!!

Nice!

Of course The fewers honours include a watney cup and also being division 5 runners up  - that's probably the equal of Blackburn's Premier league and Wigan's FA cup wins right?

There are two Rovers forums and, to be fair, the other one is quite interesting and, at times, quite amusing.

Ahh, what people are missing is that bit that says "If we are talking about things being equal". I think he is talking about a parallel universe where They hadn't gone down into non League, sorry Div 5, and all of those other "smaller" teams haven't won Leagues and cups over hundreds of years. Then , on those level terms they are bigger.
That must have been some session. He has conjured a comparison that ignores all football history to reach a theory that has them being a huge club ?

So are Cadbury heath, Longwell green and the Mango's then I guess?

One question though, if all things were 'level', how could they, or anyone else for that matter, be bigger? ⁉️ ?

Actually none of the other clubs have won the Watney Cup so there really is no comparison, gaslogic

I don’t. There aren't enough G4s roasters/belters/tossers to go round for all of us to know one each. Maybe every 10/15 of us know one G4s roaster?

Jeez - 1,000 sold so far!

Hardly heading for the crowds of 10,000 that Joey spoke about the other week! ?

But you are forgetting that 1000 tickets sold translates to around 3000 getting in the ground via "friendly turnstile operators" :)
