Joey seems to want the Fewers to be a feeder club for Championship and Premiership clubs. Which must frustrate the supporters if all they get to see is the talent being developed by other academies possibly blocking the path for their own players.

Does it ****!

They’re sliming their way round Boro supporters now telling them how they’re going to look after their player and that the footballing genius that is Joey Barton will use all his coaching knowledge to turn him into a world class striker GUARANTEED!!

Incidentally, well done to Steve Cotterill yesterday on Shrewsburys victory against FGR. He’s a winner, not like the maggots slagging him off in this thread…

Bloke on EFL seemed to take the pee a bit about Bartons 20 minute monologue, and then his moan about the loans.

How can any club build any type of sustainable future with loads of loans? Every season you make no decent sales, you don't play your own youngsters and let them gain crucial experience (future sales). Then the loan players go back and you are back to square one. How do you even take momentum into the next season or build anything longterm? I have nothing against loans at all, but why would you want to use loans to the max? That's even including telling fans you are reigning your owner in with him wanting to spend a fortune on players, how anyone falls for that nonsense I don't know.

Moaned about a lack of loans and then the game had 4 goals, 3 of which were scored by loanees.  Bloke's a cretin

He also claims the Premier League standard is dropping outside "the top 4", and yet results and current standings suggest the complete opposite.

Joey Barton's Rovers in familar territory with similarities to last season

https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/bristol-rovers-verdict-joey-barton-7544002#ICID=Android_BristolPostApp_AppShare

Good old Sam Frost reporting again.

Whereas Rovers apparently have made a confident start to L1 with 8 points from 7 games. Their opponents on Sat (MK Dons) have made an "underwhelming" start with 7 points from their 7 games (only 1 point difference).

Nothing about half of the Rovers points came against teams without a win all season, and one of those teams had a man sent off in the first minute.

Another team in the bottom 4 (FGR's) only win this season has been away at the Gas as well.

Hmm... wait until they play Ipswich, Sheff Wed, Charlton, Plymouth, Bolton, Derby and the like.

C'mon Sam a bit more realism please. This season is going to be a struggle for the Rovers. Let's have some honesty.

As someone stated previously, I genuinely think he is shit scared of Barton, worried about upsetting him.

Even their thug manager has belatedly tried to manage expectations.

I'm all for positivity from local reporters, but that has to be in context with the reality of the situation.

Never has a club been so ******* obsessed with away attendances.. except when it involves going to Wembley.

They should worry about the lack of how many go to their home games and put money in the clubs coffers. Still, I am sure their numbers will treble or quadruple when they are in their 29,000 all seater at the Fruit Market. It must be opening anytime soon.

Keep up, already open, just the Riverside stand to complete and it's Championship ready.

Dunno why they don’t just move there already, maybe when Barca leave the Nou Camp then go there

Apparently according to Joey the reason he can’t get players to come to them is because the house prices in Bristol are so expensive ?

I bet he has full time players who will be on less than many of the loans he would have enquired about. I'm sure it's nothing to with the quality setup, stadium, training ground, the new player videos, Barton and ummmm wages.

Regardless, why does he not actually try and buy some players, and build a longer term squad, team ethic etc etc. Considering their owner is wanting to spend all of his cash as he's so rich and generous, it's all very odd. Or is he maybe telling fans a few porkies on the money front. Or could he even be worried that some players just won't get on with him (I cannot think why) and he has to freeze them out on full pay, whereas with a loan he can send them back due to their attitude?

The loan process fits in well with the 15ers attitude towards everything.

They won't buy players; they want other teams' players to get them promoted (as if), like they did last season.

As we all know, they won't buy a ground; if they can't steal another one, they want somebody else to pay for a new one.

Parasites.

Our away schedule has been absolutely horrendous and continues to be for at least a couple more matches. At least two of those matches coincided with rail strikes too. You have fans rinsing us who support a club that can't reach 9K at home when they have the best Manager in the universe and are more or less giving tickets away. They are 2-3 bad results away from 7K crowds, 100%. Let's see the Sags following the club away in their millions when the fuel costs really start to bite this winter.

It appears Wael's state-of-the-art tents at the Slumorial Ground are no longer considered good enough by the big names they are allegedly trying to sign.

Why not offer them one of the many "highly attractive" caravans they have available at the various Traveller Sites in the area ?

And, to sweeten the deal, they should throw in a night of unadulterated passion with grimy Irene.

Surely, a package too good to refuse.

But Joey told everyone he has to reign Waels spending in, and let's be fair here, he never says things just to please a few of "his" fans does he....

Not so gobby now that they are 16th in League 1 whilst we are riding high at 4th in the Championship though are they.

We are 3 points from top of the table whilst they are 3 points away from the drop zone.

Nothing seems to be happening with regards to their shiny new ground either, so they will be staying at their non-league ground for a long time yet.

What is the date of Joey's next court appearance BTW?
