First half reflections……

Frustrating and concerning.

AW, KP and CM all largely anonymous. ZV too easily beaten for their opener and had looked vulnerable earlier in the half. RA looks very assured bringing the ball forward. We are less inclined to pass across our back forward and are at least trying to go forward., although when we do it’s very ineffective.

No shots on target or corners for us and very little going forward, on the couple of occasions we had half an opening the pass was sloppy with AW and JD both guilty and CM out wide leaving nobody in the middle. Really concerned about where our goals are going to come from.

As RA has been booked and the front line hasn’t threatened would expect to see TK and NW introduced on 60 minutes or so.

Hardest to watch 45 from an academy product playing out of position since Dean Holden lined up Towler vs Sarr at Watford last season.

I think we really are a club in a major transition from the free spending Johnson/Ashton days. We need more quality it is plain to see but we have too much deadwood still on the books. The football is still woeful and not attractive to watch, its going to be a long old season.

Very disjointed half....few better possession signs in last 10 mins, but that was ironically when Boro scored. Haven't been able to get enough players on the ball.  Palmer been very sloppy, allowing Spence to get toe in too often.  Vyner poor too.  Needs to give Jones a good whack.  Boro sitting deep, but we are playing straight balls, which leave the receiver with no real option, need to change our passing lines.

It's all a little bit shit, isn't it? 

Classic Warnock goal, Scott muscled out in midfield, a break out wide, Vyner poor defending the cross, Dasilva also outmuscled at the far post. 1-0.

Nothing is sticking to Martin - despite having 5 in midfield, it all feels very disjointed, King and James both wanting to drop deep and play quarter back (do we need both doing that, especially as Atkinson likes to step forward?) would like to see more from both of them. The higher 3 struggling to get into the game and all to often easily double marked or physically pushed off the ball too easily.

No pace, no threat, weak all over the park and far far too easy for a hardly exciting Boro team...worrying 45 minute performance.
