Oddly enough though while Dean Holden was manager, the opposite was true. In February the manager was held entirely responsible for the team’s failings, and the general consensus seemed to be that we had a very good squad that Holden had been unable to get the best out of. How times change. What it is it about Pearson that makes people think he can walk on water? Where is the evidence? This. A lot of "doubling down" going on. I really hope NP can turn this around in time (and he will get plenty) but the blind loyalty of some is almost cult like.

Not really, I don't advocate sacking managers either.. I'm highlighting a point. Plus FFP is a load of horseshit considering how the top clubs are circum-navigating around it However Watford are where they are and we are where we are. 054123
I’m amazed at these threads or rather the activity. Not because the subject isn’t worthy of discussion but because we are in an awful mess the making of which is down to Ashton and Lansdown. I started following city when we were in Division 3 in the mid 80s, we got promoted to division 2 reached a league cup semi, ultimately bottled it, knocked around for a few seasons, went back to div 3, repeat etc. Cue somebody telling me two promotions from division 3 in 20 years is success and trying to make out that this level of achievement wouldn’t have happened with different people in charge. I only hope that NP gets the loyalty that LJ got, not the loyalty that Cotts got. Loyalty that Cotts was deserving of, and LJ wasn’t. I think that the difference was that under Cotts (a) we were in the relegation zone and (b) he was making suicidal, stupid decisions like sticking to a 3-5-2 losing formula week in week out and deploying his subs when chasing the game on the 85th minute. Under LJ, after we escaped from that relegation zone we never entered it again. I’m not calling for NPs head - that would be silly after 2 games, but I admit I expected slightly better from his side than 13 games without a win. Can line them up in a formation. Put a defensive plan in place.
