luke_bristol
I still remember his first game, the excitement in the build up, clapping him on to the pitch, the chants of “England’s no 1, England’s England’s no 1” City 0- 3 Millwall we can never enjoy anything, can we? He started laughing when the host compared Cahill’s move to his here and I thought ‘here we go - he’s going to make some excuse up’ - but no he was very candid and took responsibility and was evidently laughing as he was embarrassed by the comparison . Odd given he’d just come from the Prem but would be interesting to know more about it and fair play to him for saying it . He’d just been in the World Cup squad, hadn’t he? CyderInACan
Wasn’t this the I’ll-fated Coppell era? If a couple of weeks can be classed as an era. . .
Bristol_South_End
Always thought he wasn't that bad in his first season with us, probably helped out massively by having Caulker in front of him for the majority of the season. Second season he was diabolical. When Gerken comes in and looks like Buffon in comparison you know how bad things are!
red84
This was 2010 and decided not to get a season ticket for the first time since I supported city. But as you do, first game comes along and the anticipation building with the James signing I reluctantly paid £30 for the ticket. I remember walking out after being thumped 3 nil by newly promoted Millwall and seeing all the players flashy cars and thinking why do I bother! They certainly didn't care on the pitch!
