25 in 106 (at risk of trusting Wiki) isn’t amazing for a central striker, but isn’t bad for someone asked to play the roles he’s had.

Suspect a lot of defences will be worried by a Martin/Weimann combination, if nothing else they know they’ll get battered by Martin and run ragged by Weimann. That’s a decent combination for others in the team to exploit.

Don’t read tonnes into this but here is yesterday’s passing network, which shows who passed to who.

Usually the high numbers for City come from CBs passing to each other or to the full-backs.  Yesterday was obviously slightly more frantic a game, it was a Derby and Cardiff very direct….but for Martin and Weimann (two forwards) to be the highest, and by some distance is very unusual…and testament to how well they played as a pair yesterday.

I noticed yesterday that this has been the most productive part of his career, 25 goals in 101 games, apart from one short loan spell he has never averaged 1 in 4. Not bad considering many believe that he has been played out of position in a lot of those games.
