Top Robin
Would probably stick with that....thought we looked pretty solid. Especially as usual fullbacks are a bit weak.
BCFCGav
Still be happy to see Jay against lesser teams. Good option in games where we’ll attack a lot. All players will have a role to play now we actually have a tight squad with no bloat!
Davefevs
Was the right selection for today, but as per MDT, we have flexibility to play a back 4 with different personnel. That will give Nige (and us fans) a bit of comfort.

It was needed today but wouldn’t want baker left back against a more fluid team
bcfcnick
I remember we had a great run of results and played some good football for a rare interlude when there were four at the back under LJ with Magnússon, Flint, Baker and Wright. It looks defensive on paper but gives height, in the team and protection from set pieces Perhaps the players in front feel more confident to push forward knowing the defensive strength at the back. Very true- all the injuries forced his hand and we stumbled across a strong setup. It also helped to fill the centre of the pitch, which is often where a game can be won and lost these days...Wright- RB nominally but can tuck in, Magnússon that bit more versatile can do either LB or narrower, also quite easy to fall into a back 3...with Brownhill wide right and Bryan wide left, Paterson central behind Reid- the latter a midfielder by trade up front so 2 for the price of 1, we could get that control but more importantly that stability quite nicely- it was one of those shapes whereby if you change one component part though- ie one of the wide players for a 'traditional' winger, one of the CBs in wide areas for a traditional FB, especially Wright for Hunt- Pisano could tuck in a bit more, but especially Diedhiou for Reid, then the whole shape starts to fall away. One of those that needed very specific types of player IMO.
Henry
I bet Pulis was watching our defence whilst rubbing his tiny penis.
SydneyCity
What I did like was the laughs/jokes/confidence between Pearson and Dasilva when he was coming on. To me it points to team spirit but, more importantly, clarity and understanding.
