Car Scratch Repair

Recommended Posts

Just before i seek a few quotes, just wondered if anyone can recommend a repairer for some, i think, minor but ugly scratches on my bonnet.

Left my car in a pay and display for a few hours on the weekend, came back to find some piece of crap had deliberately put their key or similar across the bonnet for no reason whatsoever.

Totally mindless and infuriating but such is the world we live in sometimes. Anyway, if anyone can recommend someone it would be appreciated.

If your fingernails don't 'drop' into the scratch then they can be polished out (I bought a new car recently and it had some like this (albeit not as deep).  A guy in Staple Hill buffed them out in 10 minutes flat

You can just about feel the scratch, so my hope is it will buff out with some product.

Not sure where you are located, but some **** hit my parked T5 and drove off.  These guys did a fantastic job, so can speak from personal experience.

In Bristol so will add them to the list for quotes.

This is the guy (Adam) I was referring to https://www.prestigedetailingbristol.co.uk/  Based in Staple Hill if its light enough it will come out with a bit of a machine polish.

Also I had my old car keyed with deeper scratches all down one side before Christmas, and DLG sorted it out did an immaculate job blending it back in  https://www.dlgautoservices.com/location_bristol.html

Cheers Ronnie.

I'm in Kingswood so will definitely give Adam a ring and stick DLG on the list.

Don't laugh but get a soft cloth and add some toothpaste to it. Then gently rub into the affected area. You'll be amazed just how much of the scratches disappear. I use this. It works but only on surface scratches.

Toothpaste is also great at removing other car doors' paint and rubber!

Popped in to see Adam today, he thinks he can sort it and quoted me a great price so booked in for Monday. I will post the result.

Thanks again for the recommendation.

No problem he's a good guy who knows his stuff (I can't even see where my scratches were, he's a magician).  He will be restoring the headlights on my missus' motor shortly, another service he provides

Excellent. He's definitely going to be on my list of reliable tradesmen. Not always easy to find these days.

Dropped it in this morning, he said it won't take him long. Then an hour later he sends me some pics. Even touched up a scuffed black alloy. As it only took 5 mins he tried to say he didn't want paying! No way that'll be happening, done an amazing job and a very nice bloke as well. He'll be getting a few quid and a very food review.

Thanks again @Ronnie Sinclair, like you said, magician.
