Very low car use

6 months ago my wife’s car was scrapped. She only needs it when I am away 2 nights per month and only for a total of about 3 hours over those 48/72 hours.  She managed to find a local friend of a friend who agreed that their car could be used  for all times needed for £30 per month. Win/win for both parties.

The problem is that this car has now conked out and is being scrapped. So my question is, is there anyone else in this situation and if so how do they work around it?  There are car pool apps but their cars are £5 per hour

Doesn’t using a car app work out at half the price?   3 hours usage a month would be £15 v the £30 you were paying a friend.

Took my wife’s car for MOT couple months back and she’d done 351 miles in it since last one ? That included a one of trip to Swanage which was probably 180 of them!  However her insurance is about £100, Tax about £100 and MOT each year £45.   Not sure could find an alternative that allows her to ferry the kids around occasionally for less money!

I just inherited a car. Peugeot 107. 995 cc ?

20 quid to tax a year. Rides like a lawnmower but gonna give it to my son when he passes his test. He can bomb up and down the Portbury hundred as much as he likes
