gavlin
City squad I think 1964-1965, 1 Mike Gibson 2 Tony Ford 3 Alex Briggs , 4 ? But next left is Gordon Parr, 5 Jack Connor 6 Gordon Low 7 Ray Savino, 8 Greatest City player John Atyeo, 9 Terry Bush 10 Brian Clarke, 11 Lou Peters . Interestingly next to Atyeo is Chris Garland . Fred Ford on right was manager Les Beardsley in the white coat . Anyone name the others .
City oz
How about this one from 1970. It was about the time I was at Ashton Gate for the first time. Always remember this and my dad and grand dad took me and it was in the East end corner and it was the corner where the Dolman stand was about to be built. To the left of Savino is Jantzen Derrick, Steve Stacey is to the right of Terry Bush, Gerry Sharpe to the left of Brian Clarke, Danny Bartley to the right of Lou Peters, Trevor Tainton to the left of Gordon Low, George Stowell to the left of Jack Connor and perhaps, Ian Broomfield to the right of Mike Gibson. cidered abroad
How many times will this photo be the reason for a new thread. I think this is fourth time in last six or seven years. Yours, Old misery guts who watched about 85% of the games that season.

Probably because it's a quite unique photo as the players are set out in the 1,2,3,5 formation recently discussed on this forum, with each available player in the squad placed in his normal position. Why misery? 1964 - 65 was a promotion year. P 46 W 24 D 11 L 11 F 92 A 55 Pts (only 2 for a win) 59 (would be 83 today). Back to the phot; 8, 9 & 10 were all tall. Left back number 3 all short which has been a common feature of City teams over the years.

Just Gibbo (small for a keeper) and Lou Peters on the short side. Ford, Briggs, Parr, Connor, Lowe, Derrick, Big John, Bush and Clarke I feel gave us quite a lot of height throughout the team. Was an absolute gentlemen and as red as they come. RIP Great Man.. ( I think that you’re right re Gordon Parr)
