pongo88
1-2. Could this be a game of two halves? Pearson has burst into life
Johnny Musicworks
2-1 Benarous scores after a good press. Looking better this half. Nige made a brief appearance by the dug out during half time. Benarous. Quick reply by Boro 3-

Port Said Red
I like how Janneh pops up anywhere across the frontline, the closest the U23'S have to a Weimann type player. Should have scored though. Benarous can't be far behind Scott if he keeps developing like this. Khadji is a cool customer, too cool at times, makes Tyreeq look like Han. Rossi the Robin
Palmer should have scored then 1 on 1 and too slow to react
old_eastender
only been watching for 15 mins, but Palmer looks as though he is not breaking sweat, surely he should be looking to run the show in a match like this...
old_eastender
another wild over the bar shot from Janneh, must have been taking lessons from Weimann!

old_eastender
Give Jannah his due for getting into positions, but he misses again through 1-1 with the keeper, could, ney, should have had 3 goals this half.

Johnny Musicworks
Janneh again. He could have had 4 this half. He has had a good game but seems to go for power rather than accuracy. Britton looks totally ineffective since he came on which will probably mean that he scores in a minute
The Original OTIB
Just like watching the first team, largely clueless in front of goal.

The Original OTIB
Shows that the club could do with a speacialist coach for the strikers. So much faffing about. Peterborough very direct, in a good way.
Johnny Musicworks
Despite the scoreline we should really have got something out of this game with the number of second half chances but this is Ashton Gate I suppose

OneTeamInBristol
Palmer must be seriously out of favour with Nige now and not exactly doing much to get back into his thoughts. I'm not Nahki's biggest fan but he's working hard now and seems to have improved his attitude. Watch and learn Kasey.
Supersonic Robin
None of them looked close to first team minutes on that viewing, including Kasey Palmer. Found Palmer very disappointing - he certainly didn't look like a senior player playing in an U23's match. Benarous and Janneh the main stand outs for me, though Janneh's finishing left much to be desired in the 2nd half.

Janneh has a strikers instinct in his movement and awareness, just needed to be a bit calmer in front of goal today, but all strikers have days like that. 2 minutes ago, Johnny Musicworks said: Despite the scoreline we should really have got something out of this game with the number of second half chances but this is Ashton Gate I suppose once again, it's worth noting how much younger our U23's are compared to their opposite numbers, I think Peterborough's youngest player was nineteen, we had 5 players playing who would qualify for the U18's squad. Their overage player Gwamfi (26) certainly outshone ours Palmer (24), but then he was up against James Taylor who is an U18's player.
RoystonFoote'snephew
Well beaten today. City had enough chances to have drawn or even won the game but a combination of good Posh blocks and poor finishing, primarily from Janneh and Palmer ensured that wouldn't happen. KC was KC, beautiful touches and exasperating play in equal measure. So laid back at times you'd think he was playing football with his mates on a carribean beach. I'm not sure it didn't run off on Dylan Kadji another in the KC mode. Plenty of good running by Bell and Janneh, and Williams is a defender in the making but Benarous was City's best player. And yet some still bang the “give him a chance” drum. This just sums him up, no consistency of performance & a player who cost £3.5m failing to make any impact in an U23 game. Wells has his critics but when he got a game at this level, he scored 4, spot the difference..

Johnny Musicworks
I thought Taylor improved as the game went on. Kadji looked suspect in the first half but improved second half. It maybe harsh to judge Britton on part of a game but he really looked lacking. Maybe the extra fitness work left him jaded but would be amazed if he got anywhere near the first team on that showing. The standard of crosses was on a par with the first team and Pearson and Bell probably need games on loan soon.
