JOHN ATYEO HOUSE PLAQUE

John’s family home was 60 High Street, Dilton Marsh, Westbury, Wilts, BA23 4DY.

A wall plaque has been arranged by the Local History Society and will be unveiled on:

Friday, 24th September at 6.30pm.

A gathering will be held afterwards at Dilton Marsh Memorial Hall also in the High Street but BA13 4DW followed by:

“JOHN ATYEO’S LIFE IN FOOTBALL”

a talk by John’s biographer Tom Hopegood at 7.30pm

Wonder if Tom has been approached to collate things for the book that accompanies the donations made for the statue?

Be good to get that moving.

BBC points local news bulletin on at 06:25am on Friday showing the plaque being affixed to John's home at Dilton Marsh for Friday evenings unveiling.

Should be on again at 06:55 07:25 08:25 and 08:55

Hoping their will be a bit more on the 13:30pm lunch time news

and a LIVE report on the 18:30pm local news would be nice.

A shame that talk at 7.30pm couldn't be recorded (or streamed) - many would love to hear it.

For those who caught points west lunchtime, you'll already know that this evening, there is a special feature on Alan Dicks who grows sunflowers.

I'd have started a new thread, but didn't want to steal anyone's thunder.

Just seen the report, it`s great to see Alan looking so well and still enjoying life.

Yeah they had a feature on the Atyeo plaque followed up with Alan Dick's sunflowers. Both were great features!

I haven't watched Points West for years, what a lucky chance the wife put it on tonight!

Not necessarily, what ever colour you want, that's why I can't understand why they chose blue,

If it's an original English heritage one then it will be blue.

There are others, the majority of which are blue but your right there are green and black ones.
