That was the type of cameo that is what Joe Williams is all about.  Gets on the ball, tackles hard (will get plenty of yellow cards, but his opponent will think twice after that - we haven’t had that), and can spray a pass.  I want to see him get on set-pieces too, got a great “whip” on him.  Exactly the type of display he put in during his time at Wigan.

Side note - Dasilva’s crossing has improved.  Looks like he is trying to pick out a player, rather than an area.

Never trust a website that makes reference to the offside 'rule'.

They're Laws (in this case Law 11) and for good reason. Laws are defined and not subject to debate; Rules are subjective and open to interpretation.

I think I'm correct that as soon as their keeper saved the shot, then those two become onside again because the ball then comes from the opposition not a City player.

A bit like the goal about three years ago when Taylor Moore headed a ball to a clearly offside opponent behind him.

 

I stand corrected by others that a save by a keeper still leave the player offside. So a big chunk of good fortune due to a visually challenged assistant referee, or Linesman as we all know them as. About time we got a break or two so add Mitrovic's abysmal finishing in the last few minutes.

Aah the vagaries of the offside system. Look at the Ipswich equaliser against Wednesday. When Peacock Farrell throws the ball down unaware that Macauley Bonne is behind him, and nicks which leads to the goal, why is Bonne not offside having come from an offside position.

Once again, their players were poor and the ref was bad. No one ever says City played well and deserved a draw etc.
