Popular Post Jimbo76
He gets a rough ride on this forum, sometimes warranted, but I thought he was superb today. Really looked up for it. Glad the old boy has got an international break now to recover! 23
firstdivision
As NP says: ‘I focus on what players can do, not what they can’t.’ He can’t run in behind and he hasn’t got much pace but he works hard, can lay off and has a knack of getting in goal-scoring positions when we create something.
Slack Bladder
He gives us something different but I'd still like to see us sign another striker though
Northern Red
He's no world beater but nor is he the complete donkey that sections of our fanbase make him out to be either. He's a useful Championship striker who needs managing carefully so as not to be overworked and run into the ground, which admittedly is easier said than done with our resources up front. 6

Vespa Red
There's a very (ahem) vocal young woman who sits behind us in the South Stand who expresses her opinion constantly throughout the game. She has been known to shout "SCORE" at random points of the game - I'm glad she does because I don't think that the players thought about that. Anyway, every now and again, she shouts "GO ON CHRIS MARTIN, THE LEAD SINGER OF COLDPLAY". I'm confused as I'm sure Chris Martin is - why is she cheering on someone who isn't even in the ground? Thought you'd like to read that even though it doesn't say anything about him as a player... Edited October 2, 2021 by Vespa Red 1

Chris Martin is a great pro but brimming with class every week he ain't. However, great pro's are what we need right now with the budgetary constraints Steve has asked Nige to work to. We have to take the rough with the smooth and accept that for the game we got at Millwall we will then get a finish at the death today that had Mitrovic buried it we would have been saying "that's what £60K per week gets you at this level".
97Red
Anyone in the away end catch his song? I couldn't quite make out the lyrics, but knew it was to the tune of Magic - Pilot.
Red_Alligator
He's answered his critics in the best possible way today. Let's hope he does a few more times. Well done Chris. Lovely finish, winning goal. Point made.
RedM
Great to see the pure joy on his face when he scored, celebrating Infront of the fans. He is a red, no doubt about that.
Davefevs
Thought he had a mixed first half, but was really good second half. Could’ve easily had a hat-trick today. He’s quite quick when he gets moving 1
Dan Robin
He had some chances in the first half, then he seemed to disappear for a while in the second half...until he made a powerful run on the left, who led to a chance: after that, he created problems to the Posh defence, and a good header was followed by the goal some minutes later. I still think we should not overuse him (one of the reasons why I would have given Bell a chance in the 2nd half), but today he made the difference again. KegCity
Don’t mean this to put him down, but he’s what we need: a competent championship forward. Knows exactly his role in the side, does it very well and performs consistently. Really can’t ask of any more from him.

petehinton
Wins basically everything. Hold up play in general is very strong. Goal contribution every 2 games so far this season. Not bad for a ‘Shit’ near-34 year old striker who’s returned from a serious injury!

Sniper
Really chuffed for him today. I have to admit when I saw that Wells was not fit, and that Martin was starting, especially after Millwall where he really didn't play well I was worried, but what a way to ram that down my throat, class finish.

Rossi the Robin
He would be better with more movement around him - we won’t see the best of him until we improve as a team He’s still a class act even now
Mr Popodopolous
Nice touch, good linkup play and some goals. Still worry about the risk of overplaying him but he took it very well today, and the International break has surely come at a decent time, good rest and conditioning for our players hopefully and NP too. GrahamC
In an ideal world he wouldn’t be playing as much, but that’s certainly not his fault. We have signed much worse for higher fees (I acknowledge his wages are probably top end for us, though). Clever. experienced striker who has 4 goals in 11 games & already won us some vital points. Be great if Wells was back after the international break to share the load but he’s doing a sound job overall.

Probably on a decent wedge though for all that.

At that run rate he is on for 16/17 goals which is superior to Diedhou.
pongo88
Everyone can see what he can’t do but it’s not always obvious what he can do. His strengths are holding the ball and laying it off to midfield players. Unfortunately, we’ve got a lot of midfield players who hardly ever score and don’t run into attacking positions to take advantage of his positional play. 5
