Ron W
Pearson definitely shouldn't go, the tune he's getting out of the players we have isn't a bad one. That said, it's difficult to blame anyone in the post-match emotions for not feeling the same way. We've not won in 16 home games, seven of those this season with fans back, and we've lost the lead in injury time of three. If I could still get to AG every week I'd be pretty pissed off. Ryan_BCFC
He must be in his element knowing that every other club he’s managed at before us he would have been sacked by now based on results but welcome to Bristol City.

old parkender
He’s got a massive job on his hands. My concern is we’ve been here before, the much maligned Shaun o’Driscoll called the club a basket case and was tasked to change the whole ethos around, which in fairness I believe he did, unfortunately we got relegated doing so, but the foundations were laid for cotts to kick the club on. Fast forward to today the clubs a basket case and Pearson’s been tasked to change the whole ethos of the club. If we had been through a couple of boardroom/ownership changes in that time I could understand but it’s the same mistakes being made by the same person time and time again.we can only hope that Nigel has impressed upon the owner a suitable blueprint to sustain this club at a minimum a competitive championship side without the constant chopping and changing ideas/sound bites and spin we’ve put up with for the last god knows how many years.
TomThumb84
I have come to the conclusion that there are around a dozen posters here that are given the task of spouting absolute nonsense to generate debate and traffic. These posters cleverly hide this face by being unable to spell, offer reasoned opinion and/or display minimal football knowledge so that everyone else feels the need to respond. Its either that or right now we have the football team some of our fanbase deserves. Edited October 20, 2021 by TomThumb84
Bristol is red
Changing the manager isn't going to fix anything, we're just going round in circles with it. We've got too many players who aren't good enough, the squad has degraded in quality over several season as we've sold our best players. I feel sorry for Pearson for inheriting this mess. Needing a rebuild with a high level of investment into the squad during a pandemic, with little money coming into the club to spend was a recipe for disaster. Pearson has been handed a really shit hand here, we can change manager but we've still got the same players with the same problems.
LoyalRed
A very depressing performance last night, everyone could see them scoring as soon as BC decided to start sitting back and defending with 15mins to go. Thought Massengo was playing for the opposition at one point, don't recall him actually making an accurate pass when he came on.

Please stick to legitimate scapegoats like Baker, COD, Martin etc Surely a forum ban awaits you for such a scandalous post.

I don't think it's anything as clever as that, there are simply a handful of posters who claim to support the club but don't actually like it or anyone associated with it, that's irrespective of who the manager and players are at any given time. They don't get any enjoyment from it, find it impossible to say anything positive even after a good result and it really does beg the question as to why they're here.

COD was only on for 2 mins We were the better team and were a constant threat but then decided to sit back and defend and bring players on that can't string a pass together. I'm disappointed Pearson hasn't had more of the "new manager bounce", there's been almost none which is rare for a new manager. I thought his presence and experience alone would give us a lift. I still think he's the best manager we could have attracted in terms of a "name", and probably the biggest we've had in my time watching City. Names don't win games though, so although I still back Pearson and I really want him to do well, I'm starting to get nervous about where we are heading To be fair, if the comparison is being made with Steve Cooper, he also inherited an utter shambles. 8 managers in 5 years (not counting 5 caretakers). Mad (and dodgy af) owner. Bottom with one point when he took over. Although I still back the Pearson project, I'd have liked to have heard him as angry after that defeat as the supporters were. For a guy with a peppery reputation, he sounds too laid back. Not emotionally invested. Ultimately, although I enjoyed last night's game until extra time, we simply cannot get anywhere with the strikeforce we have, and we don't have defensive midfield options I'd like either. Apart from HNM, the bench looks unimpressive. We know why Pearson failed to find that new striker he said he wanted, but it'll stymie this season. We just have to hold on, keep faith and hope we don't crash.

I'm not so sure, I thought he was seething in his interview afterwards but at the same time he's probably mindful of not going too hard on the players in public when confidence is fragile. I only heard the bizarrely truncated Radio Bristol interview (it seemed to air halfway through his comments) and read his thoughts today. I'm old enough to have seen this before - and worse, but I can say leaving the Gate last night there was real anger and disillusionment in that crowd. Real crowd numbers will plummet if better fare is not provided.

Forest have a much better squad then us imo. We wish we had the likes of Mighten, Lolley, Etc. You know. Actual players with technical ability. That can take on a man. I think you will get stick for saying the same thing week after week after week. It so bloody predictable and shows no understanding of how Pearson hands have been tied by Lansdown pulling the plug on funds for new players. Something your beloved Johnson never had to deal with.

You can have my view on NP if you want, but I'm more interested to know why you think SC has done so well at Forest.

Plus the fact that we were a little lucky in a couple of those away games ( not that I am complaining about that as I was there,). Being realistic, we wont maintain top 2 away form all season, it just wont happen (IMO) But by the same token we’ve been a bit unlucky in home games. Depends on how you want to position your narrative doesn’t it?
