Certainly making a few on here look stupid.

One swallow a summer doesn’t make

He needs consistency of performance.  OK few can play at their best week in week out, trouble with COD is when he is not top of his game he can be truly dreadful

Perhaps Nige can get him to play at good level every match.

Really makes a difference having a player with a bit of pace who runs beyond defenders. Makes our punts forward a bit more threatening.

Still struggling a bit to hold onto the ball but low possession football works better when you press with some energy and defend solidly.

This looks a lot more like a 'proper away performance' than we have had recently.

Fair play to CO'D, also defended fairly well. After they won a backpost header he had a massive block on a shot that could have easily been on its way in!

1st half summary:

shaky opening 20 (seconds)!!!!  then we should have got a red card (might've been outside the box - Moore on O'Dowda)

shaky opening 20 minutes, but grew into it, albeit a bit rushed, but we did what an away side should...frustrate the home side.  They started to rush the pass forward.  we kept a good shape.

We've defended well.  Gradually started to get Bakinson and Scott on the ball, and then you can get width.

O'Dowda a very decent first half, and rightly got his opponent red carded on h-t.  Well taken pen.

Thank you, thank, you, thank you, Alex Scott....great foul and yellow....Fleming just watch out that ref doesn't try and even up.

Martin won some good flicks, but that was a classy pass for O'Dowda for the pen.

@And Its Smithcan you jinx another Coventry player please for the 2nd half, after you built up Maatsen. ???

Grit, discipline now please.  No need to go bad, but keep the ball, tire Cov out.

Think most think COD has plenty of ability but is very inconsistent in delivering on that ability. He’s been excellent so far today, but that isn’t a sign of new found consistency, if that comes well done Callum, but a sequence of games away.

He does occasionally have a game where he looks a class above. Just needs to do it regularly (been saying that for a few years!)

Just great to have a player with some pace who actually gets in behind the defence.

Yes, Scott getting a 2nd yellow a risk as does tend to slide in. I'd seriously consider swapping him out for Benarous.

if COD used his right foot I'd get off his case but it still irks me that he just won't use it.

No real standouts so far from the team though i'd say Vyner has been pretty good bar one messy clearance, think we might be catching Coventry at the perfect time and the boys are doing okay, room for improvement but some positive signs.

Rather someone else on the wing than Weimann, Tanner still keeps getting exposed with him sat in front.

Not a bad first half, despite Coventry having better play and more chances: Bentley had some work to do but overall defence was OK, Callum was our best player in attack, good finishing by Martin, lively Scott.  The referee made a terrible decision after the first minutes but he put remedy to it near the end of the half (not a stonewall penalty like the first one, but still a penalty).

Now let's not lose the plot, please. COYR!!

I just can’t help but think being a man up and one up is a recipe for disaster.

It is hardly surprising that pessimism is the default setting......given our previous performances.........but maybe today is when it all  goes right for us?   Though I am not confident   ha!!
