054123
Are you convinced that he would return to come back to mange the football club? ”I would very much hope so but we’re talking about a health issue here” I’m not sat here with a tin foil hat, but something isn’t right is it? Nothing we didn't know already What we need therefore is for Gould to come up with some answers as to how we will manage during this uncertain time. Having Curtis Fleming effectively manage by himself doesn't seem a good look given the way the team is flatlining.

Our manager is ill, there is no return date but we still want him as manager. Our season is pretty much on hold until (1) NP recovers or (2) NP decides he's not coming back. I respect the fact the club have tried to put us into the picture over what is happening at the club when there is very little to say. Has someone told the EFL this?

The only thing I would say is that there must be a short term plan in place given the uncertainty of the situation. The obvious thing is to give it to Fleming for a few weeks but he can't do the whole thing on his own which is not far off where he currently stands tbh. Johnny Musicworks
How long can we continue as a rudderless ship is the worrying question. Presumably it could be weeks or even months and this isn’t going to reassure supporters. Hopefully Nige recovers soon but if not then do we have a plan B or are we just going to make do with Fleming.

It’s an odd interview I agree. Especially if it was actually requested by City. But we all moaned when Ashton never appeared other than when everything was rosy so at least he has fronted up. But not really sure what he could say other than what he did. GT focused a lot on on the pitch matters which RG would and did struggle to answer. As others have said people moaned when Ashton appeared too involved and are now moaning that RG isn’t. Guess the premise of the interview overall was that he just felt he had to update on NP’s position and got caught in the headlights somewhat on some other issues. But at least he took it on.
Elruliri
I'm not convinced by this interview at all. It was a bit like watching a dog chasing it's tail. NP is on his way imo. All very wishy washy.
Rossi the Robin
It’s clear that he’s been unwell for 5-6 games and his energy has been missed and this may have had an impact on recent results The club want him back well, firing on all cylinders- timeframe unknown by everyone on the planet

Phileas Fogg
Very unconvinced by that. That’s my first time hearing Gould and length and being truthful I felt it was a poor interview - not just on the Pearson situation. Lots of filler on needing to ‘work hard’ and how we have ‘good players’. Had to really press him to get firm answers on Massengo etc. Excuses, which aren’t necessarily untrue, about competing with PP clubs. Didn’t seem to understand coaches roles either and a predictable safe answer about solutions to improving the atmosphere. I’m sure he’s a very nice guy, and I appreciate it’s a tricky situation, but I felt he really sounds like a Lansdown man. Decent, polite and won’t really rock the boat. That as a first impression hasn’t impressed me and I’m not really sure it’s what the club needs. Full credit to him for coming on though, and hopefully my first impression is wrong. Credit to Geoff for pressing him too. He asked the questions the fans wanted to hear. Edited November 8, 2021 by Phileas Fogg

Pearson's situation will take as long as it needs to take but we can't completely throw the towel in. Someone in a leadership position at the club needs to show a bit of leadership. If it's Curtis Fleming, fine, if it's Colin on a three month contract then so be it BUT something needs to be thought out. 2

Johnny Musicworks
I guess that it’s possible that Nige has offered to resign (sparking the rumours) but it has not been accepted and Gould has now had to front up whilst the Lansdowns decide on temporary measures.
JoeAman08
So there is a possibility we go into the busiest time of the season without a manager? I get it is a medical issue but there has to be a point where we move forward surely? Sounds suicidal possibly having to navigate december and early january with Fleming

Not a great deal more impressed by Gould than I was by Ashton to be honest...and that really is saying something!
