Made him train with the 18, on the pitch as well; even though he wasn't named in the matchday squad. And he was a waste of space then as well - being good humoured does not make him a team player - a bit of effort would help!
Alessandro
No doubting Dasilva is superb on the ball, probably one of our most skilful players in that respect. The problem with Jay is he seems to have been 'found out' - perhaps the writing was on the wall when in those games earlier in the season teams just targeted the back post on the left and IIRC outmuscled him on several occasions for goals. It was almost too easy. It doesn't matter how hard you train, that will always be the weakness for him.
One Team
So, since Nige made his now famous statement we have had two decent performances at home with unchanged teams playing a mix of quality youth and experience. This statement may well appear now to be a key turning point. He’s made it clear who he doesn’t trust and wants to move and in doing so made it very clear who he does trust. For those players he trusts it must be a huge confidence boost and may well explain the change in performances on the pitch.

It is why I am still pro Pearson. I love that bravery, and I love that in a few years that bravery will give us a damn good team with the same bravery and commitment from those players. How those young players wanted the ball and moved into space. What a future Alex and Benarous have. These are future Prem players. Reinforced by their performances against Stoke.
