Loco Rojo
Boris's incompetence continues. So under the new rules of wearing a mask on the train and in shops works like this. I've got COVID, catch a train (masked) to a busy restaurant, (don't wear a mask when I walk in, to/from the toilet etc and when leaving). Catch the next train (masked) and head to the busy pub. Spend a few hours in the pub moving around speaking to people, un-masked) then he'd to a club for more socialising (again un-masked). Lucky for everyone COVID is only dangerous on trains and in shops. Appreciate masks aren't full proof but they do their bit to reduce the risks. This new rule has been badly thought out and no doubt won't be implemented or policed properly.

Maybe on those 10days off work you could help out those life saving doctors and nurses in a Covid ward, you could probably could do it without all the equipment they have to wear as well; go on, be brave, after all chances of you dying "is very slim" Or you could wake up and understand ANYONE can die from this horrible virus; you would be very wise to take every jab and be alert to the FACT it can and will take anyone young/old/fit/healthy.........sadly I fear my words are wasted here

It's been the same all along, they want to appear popular so rushed to relax restrictions and were slow to implement in the first place. The variant from India, oh we will stop flights, but not for a week or so. Ridiculous situation. It will be really difficult to get people back in masks now, so many will play up and it's unfair to try and make Bus drivers or Train staff to have to stamp down on people not complying.

Stopping "flights" from India cant do it anyway....whats to stop someone fllying to any country in the world from India then flying here from that "safe" country; passports need to be checked to see where they have been. "People" in the vast majority will do what they feel is right and trying to avoid covid/or spreading it is right i.m.o. bbew
Genuine questions here, and I do not want to detract from the seriousness of covid. Given covid will be around forever, and variants will be around forever - are people happy that this is how we live our life now forever? Every winter as cases increase or there is a new variant pressure for new restrictions. We get a few normal months in the summer, and then when rates go up, restrictions come in, travel restrictions, mask wearing, and people scared. I am not saying these measures are wrong, I just don't see what the end game is? We have done so well and have such high vaccination rates, that it almost feels like it was sort of pointless (I don't mean pointless as obviously thousands of lifes have been saved, but in terms of the end game and living normally) In 5 years time after the 10th booster, another variant emerges and back to square one and another press conference to say we need to be more careful again as the vaccine needs adjusting. I just wondered peoples thoughts? Are people genuinely happy to wear masks forever, as wearing one for 5 mins in a shop is no bother, but for those that wear for 8 hours a day they are pretty damn horrid. This is why I detest Twitter and Facebook as the art of dialogue has been lost. Opposite opinions don't count on the social media and that will rebound sooner or later at a great cost. As far as corruption/cronyism is concerned, Labour lost the trust of many Glaswegians because of this.

If the Labour Party get it together enough to accept that defeating the Tories is the most important thing then we might get somewhere. Left of centre coalitions are the only way forward, we simply must gang up on these bullies.
Oh Louie louie
I went to london, the week lockdown ended. Masks were still had to be wore by law on tubes. They had two employees by the ticket entrance, at snaresbrook station, telling people to wear masks. They also had two on the platform. They got pretty much ignored in the time i was there. Yes id agree with above from what i saw, be very hard to enforce.

But if they suspended direct flights and put protocols in place many that suffered and even died may not have contracted THAT variant, the delay was costly and not the first time they did it. People would have rushed home to avoid imposed isolation after the waiting period, while not 100% sure they weren't infected.

Tell me if I'm wrong but I often think that people with your attitude have indeed done a personal risk assessment in their head and conclude that they most likely won't suffer severely from Covid. They then ignore guidance such as wearing masks, social distancing as a way of asserting their "individuality". They're always keen to show off about how they won't be told what to do. It's like 12 year old kids taking a stand about a small change to how the school dinner queue system works. Yes you are very clever and unique, well done special soldier except your attitude f**ks things up for other people. Give it some thought eh?

What a *****. Many people on here have actually either been ill themselves through covid, or unfortunately have lost someone close to them. Personally we lost my father in law about a month ago, someone who didn't leave the house without a mask because he had a few different minor issues. He caught it, and it was awful seeing him deteriorate to the point where he was on one of the full breathing masks and maximum oxygen. We were then told to get to the hospital to say goodbye as we're taking him off the machine because there's nothing more we can do for him but make him comfortable. His funerals this Friday, and couldn't be any earlier because his wife then contracted it as a result of spending her final few hours with him. His youngest daughter has just last week had her first child, so we had to put the funeral back a bit longer. It's now actually the day after my sons first birthday. Nice to get 10 days off work? In probably trying to make yourself look funny, you've made yourself out to be a complete and utter anchor. Bell end.
