Gazred
Still so proud of those cup performances. Both our goals that night were top quality, particularly the 1st, superb football. Wonder if Man U have a 4 years ago thread on their forum...

One Team
The best single game I’ve ever seen at the Gate. And from then on it’s been downhill ever since!

CheddarReds
Amazing! Nights like that are why we keep going through some of the bad times. Still life in this perhaps for Bristol City... 5

Shows that the new stadium design doesn’t impact the atmosphere if all 27k are singing their hearts out and the team is playing well! Great night, my 2nd best night at the gate after Palace playoff second leg I think Edited December 20, 2021 by Tinmans Love Child

EmersonsKev
Agreed what a night! the continued attendance whilst performances are poor make these nights all the sweeter. However for me it still doesn't beat Hartlepool or Palace nights for me.
Lew-T
I haven’t seen Ashton Gate quite like that night before. It was carnage. So much emotion, it’s why we love the game. Just a shame it doesn’t happen too often.

ChippenhamRed
As wonderful as that night was, in my mind, each passing anniversary is increasingly a reminder of how little we’ve had to get excited about since - and how we squandered all the opportunities and hope of that season. And, yes, I am fun at parties!
JBFC II
My 18th birthday, not a bad night all in all!! If you’d have asked any of us where we would be in 4 years time after that night I doubt any of us would have said we’d have regressed in the way we have. Let’s hope for more nights like that in the next few years with Pearson at the helm

weepywall
Was a great night, always annoys me when people say they are not interested in cup runs and play the kids etc, those games don't come along too often for a club like ours. Sturny
Makes me wonder if we stayed in the champ and never went down would've we achieved a squad like this? I like to think us getting relegated was a blessing in disguise to rid the squad. Would've we bought players like Flint/Ayling/Freeman/Smith if we stayed up?

Very sure we'll be under different ownership by then, so it'll be an interesting next few years one way or another.

Opportunities don’t come often for us and that night should of been a launch pad for but in reality that season finished with a whimper and we’ve been going backwards since. that squad and the money it raised was the best chance we will have of making the Prem in my lifetime and we blew it . Or rather Mark Ashton did, and to a lesser extent Lee Johnson.
