The Dolman Pragmatist
Really? No Massengo? No Atkinson? Hard to work out what’s going on here… 1 Quote Link to comment
IAmNick
Two 18 year olds and a 19 year old in the starting lineup. You love to see it! 3 Quote Link to comment
redsince1994
Doesn't exactly fill me with confidence but that must be the most academy players in a first 11 for a seriously long time? 3 Quote Link to comment

Hard to work out what’s going on here… Assuming Pearson has set a benchmark and won’t play players who don’t hit that benchmark. Could argue that those players would be better to start but maybe he’s going short term pain for long term gain. He’s preferring to give those impressing in training a chance Quote Link to comment
Super
That defence looks so weak. 1 2 Quote Link to comment
petehinton
Towler against Bradshaw and afobe is a hell of a risk. Fingers crossed 2 1 Quote Link to comment
grifty
7 academy/youth players? Nige setting an example for the older players not pulling their weight? Quote Link to comment

Hard to work out what’s going on here… Almost certainly getting the younger lads involved while he still is able to cover them from the bench. Let's be honest, we are looking to move some players out this month to free up wages and hopefully find room for a signing or two. If we can't find cover from within the squad in case we can't replace Bentley, HNM etc, it makes our transfer window dealing even more critical. Quote Link to comment
Wrongagain
How many of the 7 are in the shop window? Quote Link to comment

NcnsBcfc
Well there's not a lot of trust for Massengo or Atkinson at the moment by the look of it. The average age of the team is now reminding me of circa 82-83 under TC in Div 4. Quote Link to comment
Finley_Smith10
not too sure about this. Afobe and Bradshaw a handful 2 Quote Link to comment
nebristolred
We’ve said we’ve wanted the academy to produce for some time. This is a statement. Win or lose, there is some talent in that lineup and whether it’s through necessity or not, it’s great that Pearson is doing this. That lineup in 3 years will be so much better. 2 Quote Link to comment
Robin101
I obviously wasn’t paying attention in December. Why was Atkinson dropped? I thought he was getting good reviews earlier this season. Quote Link to comment

Started off well but I think his ability on the ball masks his poor defensive skills 1 Quote Link to comment

AshtonRobin21
What a day for the academy! 7 academy graduates starting. Granted circumstances have played a part, but if we can get a win today, that's some achievement for the club. 1 Quote Link to comment

Silvio Dante
Last season, when we played the kids, it was through necessity. Now it’s through choice - whether that’s because they’ve improved or because others have lost form. To me, that’s a huge positive. 1 Quote Link to comment
