Caught up with this last night on BBC iplayer.

Cracking film, closely based on the loss at sea of the American whaling ship 'The Essex' back in the 1800s, an event that inspired Melville to write 'Moby Dick'.

It is a cracking film. The book is excellent too - same title as the film by Nathaniel Philbrick.

Yep - based on a truth. Quite an incredible story.
