Fulham away match day thread

Recommended Posts

Immediate thoughts following a 6-2 defeat.

Fulham are the real deal. At times today we were given a footballing lesson. Despite being well beaten (relieved actually they only got six at half time I feared worse) by a very accomplished Fulham team I thought we played with much more energy and creativity than has often been the case this season and scored two superb goals. Despite being outplayed we showed character and self-belief, even when the final outcome was not in any doubt e.g. the entire second half.

Thought both of our AS’s did well (Scott and Semenyo) and our fans were again first class.

I’m left wondering why Kalas wasn’t given the job of man-marking Mitrovic.

Good day for Fulham with Bournemouth and WBA losing.

In other news Derby County are off the bottom!

I get that, for 20 mins we more than competed, what you can’t compete with is the quality of player they’ve got, and class and form takes precedence here.

Not doubting that it just seems every time we lose against a top team badly the same old excuse comes out.

Agreed, an entertaining game, some good goals from both teams, but tough as a city fan.

Hard to say so after such a shellacking, but think the score is slightly generous to them. First two goals arguably has a push, and thought we should have had a penalty at 2-3. Equally, I am sure they took their foot off the pedal a bit in the second half. PP are a factor of course, but to squeeze something out we have to defend much better than we did. That made is much easier for them.

Mostly because that is the reason. We are a well run club that made a £36m loss, Fulham, Bournemouth and West Brom will get more than that as ungenerated income. There is no way that Fulham to keep hold of Mitrovic without that cash.

In a one off game it isn't. It's a convenient excuse.

Agreed, fed up with Vyner facing the goal and losing another header. They just had too much movement and pulled people left right and centre. Mitrovic is a clever player..
