CheddarReds
Hi all. More and more I'm warming to the idea of moving abroad to work and live. Most likely somewhere in north western Europe. Has anyone got any experience of moving abroad to a new country? If so, what do you wish you knew before you went? Is it easier or more difficult than you expected to become comfortable with a new language? Has it been complicated with pensions/ savings in the UK? Is there any research you wish you did before you selected where you wanted to go? Most importantly, has it been a good experience? It'd be great to here some thoughts, ta

Well, I was assuming more Scandinavia, Germany, BeNeLux and, at a push, Northern, i.e. not Mediterranean, France. But, as you say, a more precise idea of the location is quite important, and it would be helpful to know more about language skills, if any, together with professional work qualifications.
