which birdbrain came up with the idea of giving pedestrians right of way over traffic turning left .going to result in a few rear end shunts which could flatten pedestrians anyway

Probably the very same idiot that thought it a good idea to put pedestrian crossings at each of the exits of roundabouts….St Mary Redcliffe for instance….

They keeping reporting that cyclists should ride in the middle of the road! Do they mean the middle of the lane?

Our local council started painting lines down the centre of each pavement therefore creating cycle paths. After a while they just said that any pavement/footpath was available for cyclists to use. Heaven help any pedestrian who doesn't look over their shoulder before moving across to the kerbside!

There`s one like that at the western end of Dorchester - right next to the coach park which is full of buses of old ladies coming from far and wide on market day. Waste of time Wednesday the locals call it as it can take twenty minutes to get across it while they all hobble down for their `bargins`.

I have seen these changes and thus tried to adopt them whilst driving.

Its useless, the pedestrian will still give way to the car and confusions arise from the ped as to why im stopping to let them pass. No one is gonna know about this unless a big national advert is telling them.

Plus this is gonna be a nightmare, some peds will just cross expecting drivers to know and get run over!
