PHILINFRANCE
It was, of course, a very sad ending to a tragic story that, because of the historical connections between France and Morocco, has been quite a 'big' event in the French media over the past few days. Nevertheless, and whilst I am fully aware of, and understand, the reasons, it is always strikes me how such a story in another country attracts more attention than, e.g. an instantaneous motor accident in one's own country, in which an entire family, including children, is killed. Could be due to the fact not many people get stuck down wells anymore, whereas car accidents are far more common.
Fordy62
Can’t help but feel like it would have had a happier ending had it occurred in this country - I mean obviously the likelihood of the accident in the first place would have been minimal, but I wonder if they’d been quicker to call in outside assistance… poor lad. RIP.
