City concede two really soft goals again. Defenders not defending by tracking or blocking their man. Corners and set plays are Citys Achilles heel.

As a former CB himself he must be doing his head in witnessing inept defending again tonight.…………..

He’ll probably take the blame post match but what can any manager do when your players aren’t doing their jobs?………:dunno:

Did you say that about any of our performances under Gary Johnson?

NP was a strong uncompromising defender. This defence is not in his image. He must have plans re this for next season…

Yet he brought in Baker, Tanner, Atkinson, Simpson, Klose … all defenders all his choice and we are still shocking

I must be a bit naive but if a team has had the same problem for most of the season isn't it the Manager's job to sort it out. That what he is paid good money for. If he cannot do it then move on.

I’m Pearson in still. Last season and this was about survival and we’ve done it, with (patchy) improvement on the Holden era. Attack is vastly improved, defence is of course still a big problem, but we’re safe.

It also isn’t feasible to pay up the remaining two years of his deal in our current financial state.

What!? GJ holding his hand up and taking the blame……….…:rofl2br:

He called players out - that’s why he’s managing below conference level these days.

Nigel has called players out on a regular basis. No doubt justified but he has done it nevertheless.

Has he?  I don’t recall him throwing any player under the bus.

Jesus christ is that genuinely his record?!

It has to be looked in context - remember he took over a shambles of a club with unfit players. Plus he’s been seriously hampered by injuries to experienced players all season

Holden era? He was only in the job about six months

He's managing AT Conference level, not below. The team that narrowly lost the Conference play-off last season.

Do check before you make these assertions.

I have to admit that I am struggling to see signs of things working out in the long run under Pearson, and that really ****ing annoys me, not least due to certain posters on here who have been waiting for him to fail since day one.

I don't even think it's necessarily his fault. There has been something fundamentally wrong with this club for the entirety of this century so far.

I think he’ll walk at the end of the season . What’s he realistically gonna achieve here with the financial restraints from the club being ran so poorly for years . I think anyone who takes the managers job under the current ownership is set up to fail.

Wouldn’t surprise me either, looks frustrated & might wonder at seasons end if it is all worth it.

I’m pretty sure he does it on purpose.

No one can consistently be that stupid.

I thought he sounded like he's had enough in the post match interview.   He's bored of saying the same thing time and time again.    He's run out of steam.

Thought the same. Didn’t seem angry or pissed off at all, almost a sad acceptance. Certainly a different feel than he’s put across over the last few months
