I cannot say well done, as having a wage bill that they have and the spend on players made the league a farce. Of course you still have to deliver, but it was not a fair competition. The only winner was parachute payments.

Absolutely correct. Although I don’t blame Fulham, I blame the system. It’s simply a reward for failure.

Read a quote on Twitter that Mitrovic is on more a week than the 11 that started Luton’s last match, it is an absolute farce.

Fulham spent more in the summer transfer window than the other 23 teams did between them. Bournemouth, who will also go up, cheated FFP to get parachute payments in the first place & despite pitiful crowds are bankrolled by a Russian.

Neither side deserve any credit at all, Huddersfield (in the last year of parachute payments but who have spent virtually nothing) & Luton (despite their odious manager) certainly do.

Our point at home to Fulham was probably our best result of the season considering the ridiculous advantage they have.

Football has never been a level playing field financially, it's the nature of the beast

It’s got miles worse though.

The old first division was far more even than this, winning the Premier League is virtually a closed shop, now the same clubs joining it & leaving it do so almost every year.

The Premier Leaugue actually has around 20/ 21 teams in it, although some of them have to swap divisions for a season or so.

Parachute payments make the whole thing completely unfair they should be abolished..........clearly no chance of that.

And, probably; another million quid to Joe and Bobby as promotion bonus payments...

Precisely.

Get promoted then get relegated, you are set- up, it is an utterly unfair competition, which FFP makes worse.

Imagine if SL decided that no matter the cost, he wanted promotion, despite the fact he has the money, he cannot  do it.

It is a cartel and to break out of that you have to be extremely fortunate.

Indeed . 3 contract extensions since signing for them. Clearly far too good for championship . But not good enough for Prem ? Maybe indicates how poor our defenders are ???

He probably would be good enough in the premiership if in the right team

He has resigned multiple contracts with Fulham and is reported to have a basic of £100k a week .

Brighton fan on Twitter (not some random, does a lot of financial stuff on his timeline) reckons he’s on £130k a week…

That’s £34m more the PL clubs get next season.  If Bournemouth go up, that’s another £15m….and if Sheff Utd do so too. That’s another £34m also.

If Watford and Norwich come down, that’s only 2 years worth of PPs they get, so a bit more pressure on them to go back up quickly.

Burnley or Everton in a bad way financially, whichever one comes down.

Might we see a slight chink in the yoyo’ing of clubs going forward….I doubt it….but we might see the odd one plummet too, like Sunderland.
