1960maaan
6th of May, Hereford away. 0-2 9th of May, Hereford home. 3-0 We went to Hereford full of confidence and got done 2-0. I was so fed up, so sure we were out I bet the then girlfriend a weekend away we wouldn't make it to Wembley. Cost me a fortune I'm glad to say. Started in the garden of the Maypole in Hanham, not sure where the Swan was that we stopped in though. Then Edgar street. Then the home game ..... Actually this day 36 years ago, 3 days after the first game, never happen today. 8
Ciderhead433
Moaners would have had a field day on OTIB with all those pitch invasions 1
italian dave
Can I just say that I’m fed up with people moaning about the moaners. Great to see an Alan Walsh piledriver again after so long!
maxjak
I remember driving up to Hereford with my best mate.........and the total dismay of our inept performance, but i always believed we would turn it round...........and we did, in an excellent 2nd Leg............just!!
22A
I remember seeing the result on the national TV news. I thought to myself "City are back".
TedsHeadIs Red
That year, that semi 2nd leg and that final seem almost surreal now. Modest achievement but phenomenal memories.

Rich
Somehow I was on that Photo and, in the Maypole. A few of us South Bristol boys were on the coach. Crap first game watched from the side stand. Different story for the second game, watched from the Dolman. Celebrated after with a trip into the only club we could get in, Lourdes? Fairfax St up the steps.
Rich
As an addition to this topic, the OP states he doesn't know where the Swan Inn is, neither do I. What I do know is, if I remember correctly, we travelled past Hereford and stopped in the Swan, then came into Hereford from the North, avoiding police checkpoints and a police escort.
Sleepy1968
Ha. I was part of the pitch invasion at the end of the second leg. The video is too grainy to make anything out even if I remembered what I looked like back then. Nice break from the A level revision. And what a final. Sweet memories. steviestevieneville
Great memories . I was right in line with the near post as Neville scored. I swear the ball took about 20 minutes to cross the line

MC RISK77
Never realised the area finals were so close to end of the season- this tournament gets wrapped up mid March these days. Probably was my first season of understanding what it meant to support one team I was only 8 and prior to this season had supported Man Utd and Chelsea…Wembley was my first ever match…hooked ever since
