Grandads Team - Bristol City

Dads team - Bristol City.

Mums team - None.

Local team - Bath City. League wise (Geographically)...um....City

Your team - City. Obvs.

Kids team - zero kids.

Claim to fame? Loose really. I have relatives who played for City, Gas and Swindon and another who worked at the Saints Academy

This is one of those killing space at end of season trends that comes up on Twitter that I thought would be worth posting here for the same reason!

I’d add to the bottom if applicable “kids team” so fire away!

Mine, FWIW, are…

Grandads Team - Stoke. Grew up round there and played in goal for Stoke schoolboys with Stan Matthews

Dads team - Bristol City. Moved down this way and the most local decent club

Mums team - Bristol City. Because Dad dragged her into it. And she still goes now

Local team - League wise, closest, it’d be Rovers. But I’m having Yate Town

Your team - City. Obvs.

Kids team - City. They’re indoctrinated and I’d disown them otherwise!

For me:

Grandad - Yeovil Town. (He might have played for them in the late 1920s or early 1930s. He played locally/regionally but could never quite get straight if it was actually for Yeovil Town or not)

Dad - Bristol City. My Grandad moved to Bristol to work at whatever the precursor to British Aerospace was and married and had kids. My Dad went to City home and away in the 60s and 70s but stopped at some point in the late 1970s

Mum - No interest whatsoever

Me - Bristol City. As a kid, I had phases of supporting Plymouth Argyle aged 7 or 8 because they played in Green and had a funny name, then supporting Sheffield Wednesday from 11 - 15 or so because I wanted a premier league team and I liked being different. But that was always on top of City and, especially since I left Bristol, supporting Bristol City makes me feel close to my routes.

Local Team - Growing up, Yate Town. As an adult my local teams have been Bournemouth, QPR, Chelsea (I think - I wasn't really close to anywhere), QPR, Arsenal, Wingate and Finchley, Walthamstow FC and now Arsenal again.

Kids' Team - No kids but my brother wants me to take his kids to a City match at some point next season.

Was quite proud when I stated all this. Just realised that's 3 generations of football misery...

Believe I'm a 5th generation City fan. Have a family member who played for the club in the early 20th century with Fatty Wedlock.

I know for fact that at least one great-grandfather watched City and seeing as they all lived and worked in Ashton/Bemmie it's likely they all did.

So, that makes me 4th generation and my daughters 5th gen.  I'm pretty sure City didn't exist in my great-great grandfathers' days. Excessive drinking and bare-knuckle boxing seem to have been their only leisure outlets.

All over the shop. Can be interesting when we are all in the same league.

Grandad 1 - Ipswich Town

Grandad 2 - Watford

Dads team - Sheffield Wednesday

Mums team - Would probably say Watford

Local team - Exeter City (football league wise)

Your team - Bristol City

Kids team - N/A

Other teams in the immediate family include Reading, Swansea, Crystal Palace and a couple of Liverpool/Man Utd ones.
