Not a surprise, we had moments of flirting with the relegation places this season and with our financial situation we're likely to be weaker next season, or a potential points deduction. If we can get through next season without being relegated then things will start to get better.

But guessing at this point when this year's competition hasn't even finished is a bit of a waste of time, you might as well be guessing on 2030 because a lot will change between now and the start of the season.

Watford - 7/1

Norwich City - 8/1

West Brom - 9/1

Sheffield United - 10/1

Sunderland - 20/1

Luton Town - 25/1

Bristol City - 40/1

Have a bet on all of them at all those prices, 20%, 20%, 15%, 15%, 10%, 10%, 10%, pretty much nailed on to deliver a profit to bank imo.

Surprised the top line of the market is so high, 7/1 the field looks rather big to me.

Yes.  Not sure where @Never to the dark side got those odds. This is Skybets spread.

Also not sure how you can give odds before the play off final is completed.

His are the odds to win the Championship rather than promotion as per your link.

Bookies odds at this time of the year are guesswork based solely on last season league position and we all know how unreliable that is.

No consideration into which clubs have lost experienced players or those that have recruited well. It’s pretty ridiculous when you think about it.

Money, money, money!

Can I be pendant if re this thread.  The odds are for winning the title, so although you’d imagine they are the reverse for relegation, wouldn’t mind seeing I’d those odds are transposed.

I wonder what odds Huddersfield were this time last year??

At the start of August they were:

Winner - lowest price of 50/1 & highest 66/1 (ew quarter odds first 3)

Promotion - lowest 12/1 highest 18/1

Relegation (3rd favs) - lowest 11/4 highest 100/30

Norwich and Watford have been so poor it wouldn’t look good on the championship if they bounced straight back up.

Has the gap really widened that much? Probably.

Norwich and Watford have yoyo'd for years, expect them to do so again, Bournemouth a and Fulham are proof

Not sure why people are confused. From the outside looking in we've been sliding down the table over the years getting closer.

If we sell off our talent this summer (which looks likely to people as we're seen to have financial trouble) and don't recruit well it could well be game over. We're seen to make silly signings like Chris Brunt or Danny Simpson so I could understand why someone could bet on it with an outside look in.

Obviously us fans know better, our state on the pitch has actually improved.

Very unlike you Dave, your grammar is usually spot on. Are you drunk? ?

Odds mean nothing, it isn't bookies predictions it's punters betting patterns, If I lump 1k on us to win the championship now, our odds would be slashed significantly

I’m sticking £500 for us to go down , easy money, there is no way we are staying up without investment in the squad.

And how do we invest in the squad with no money and possible ffp breach if we're were to invest heavily,

I'll lay you the 11/4 on that if you want.

Happy for someone trustworthy on here to hold onto the money before the season kicks off if you are serious?
