Jubilee weekend, what are you up too.

I think that Street Parties are great, if you're a kid , have kids or you live in a small community . Personally I've never bothered.
So what are you lot up to ?
Me and Mrs Maaan wandered up to Staple Hill & Downend, it's nice to see bunting out Yesterday, and the Post boxes Yarn bombed.
Today, we're off to Propyard on Feeder road. BBQ and DJs, including Jazzy B. I fully expect to have left before Jazzy and all the hip young things turn up, but we will have a look. Weather looks good, new venue and tickets are free.
Tomorrow, Page park has a day of stuff including bands. Starts at 11:00 so weather permitting we will wander up.
Sunday weather doesn't look great, so I think it will be Cribbs or a Garden Centre to keep the good lady sweet.

So, what exciting things do you guys have planned, anyone fully embracing the Jubilee ?

Bath Races today, James are playing afterwards; although I suspect I am the only member of my party with any interest in seeing them, annoyingly this means I'm missing the Gloucestershire game this evening.

Tomorrow, understand there is a street party on and depending on my hangover from today, might show my face for an hour or so.

Aside from that... sweet FA!

We probably walked past each other!

I thought James were excellent, not even the gasheads behind me (loudly shouting "up the gas") ruined my day.

In the end (and as I suspected), my party of race goers didn't fancy standing in the rain to watch James, so we left shortly after the last race.

On the plus side, a lucky look at Uber saw us back in Bristol in next to no time and at an agreeable price.

That's a shame. It wasn't raining when James were on, but it was bloody freezing!

It was time off.

Road had a Marquee on our mini mini green.

People donated.

People baked cake.

People put drink in peoples hnads.

People socialised.

And what we didnt eat goes to a carehome, to local pensioners  and a food bank.

And despite the rain people came and took time off all that problem life thing.

Couple of the oaps had dropped off societies radar, pandemic and all of that were there.. One was a 100.

They were excited to be out, to be around people, the kids, music cake and laughter ... Worth it for that.

Will remember it for that.

Good moments amongst years of what hasnt been so..
